Attracting the Eyes of Viewers
When one’s mind clicks on the word visual, one of the things that pop into the head is color. Single color has the ability to change the emotion, energy, and mood of an image. Color can enhance feelings of hunger, excitement, sadness, and happiness (Elements of Visual Communication, 2020). I have blended different colors in my flyer to make it more attractive. The background is brighter to enhance the attraction of the eyes of both parents and students.
Layout: the layout of my design includes the placement of a background picture showing that the event involves sports. It emphasizes what will be done that day and gives a clear and concise message to all readers who will come across the flyer. I think the flyer carries an influential message to all readers.
The shape of my flyer also entails the prowess of creating an emotional effect and grabbing the attention of the readers (7 Paramount Components of Visual Communication, 2020). It builds an outstanding impression on the readers and influences them to make an effective decision to attend the field day.
Value: The design of my flyer utilizes high contrast of values that creates a sense of clarity. I have also used the hierarchy, which emphasizes the importance of the different elements in my design (Siang, 2020). I have used larger fonts on the heading and the day that the field activities will be held. Some readers will not take time to read what activities will be held, but on seeing the heading, field day, and the date it will be held, they may avail themselves.
