Beauty
In definition, beauty is the qualities in someone or something that give pleasure to the aesthetic mind or the senses. Many people believe that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. To perceive something as beautiful, it must give pleasure to the mind. Various philosophers have implied that everything has beauty in it but not everyone can see it. This is because everyone has their own varied definitions of beauty.
Some people believe that beauty is all about looks. Many women put on makeup and dress up in certain ways because they believe that this makes them beautiful. They will spend hours looking at themselves in the mirrors and frequently polishing up on their lipstick to look beautiful. Other people will even go to the extent of having plastic surgery procedures and facelifts to look more beautiful. They strive to look like the supermodels seen in the media and branded as beautiful.
Beauty, however, comes from within. It is how one carries themselves and acts towards other people. Everyone out there is a masterpiece of art because there is no one else who resembles them. Their genetic make up is unique and that is what makes everyone beautiful in their own way. Beauty is being generous and kind when dealing with people. Having the confidence to face people and carry out challenging tasks. The quality of being happy, outgoing, and being nonjudgmental in itself is beauty also.
Everyone has their own perception of what beauty is and it differs from one person to the next. What one person finds beautiful could not be as aesthetically pleasing to another. It is not about wearing certain clothes or putting on a certain shade of lipstick. Neither is it walking or talking in a certain way that others view as beautiful. What one perceives to be beautiful is beautiful and people should learn to appreciate other people’s ideas on beauty.
