Benefits and challenges that a speaker can face during meetings
There are numerous benefits and challenges that a speaker can face during meetings. Some of the observed limitations include low energy, people having to spend more time on phones rather than concentrating on what is being discussed, and lack of participation. Having been allowed to research on this issue, I have developed strategies that will help gain total control in the meetings. The reason employees lack concentration is that they fear that their participation will be taken for granted, questions asked are framed in a way that is friendly to answer, a lot of negative feedback when suggestions are given, and the looming social pressure hinders people from participating. Having vast knowledge about the factors that can cause people to lack proper concentration in meetings, we can develop a few strategies that can help mitigate this condition.
The first step that can be implemented includes the ability to frame the questions that one asks their workers. This will give their colleagues the chance to feel free since they will be facing questions that are similar to them. Also, try to engage each individual by calling their name and try as much as possible to go in order. Before an individual starts the meeting, they should try to conduct a brainstorming session to gather attention. Another vital and personal factor that is people who chair meetings should refrain from is showing respect to their members. Consequently, people should try as much as possible to reward good ideas. This will help team members to have trust in that person, thus giving him or her all the attention. Before the meeting, it is also essential to give a hint to members on the theme to prepare them for the meeting. Another vital strategy is to encourage group participation and allowing people to work together.
