Birth control is either a method or a device used to prevent pregnancy and commonly known as contraception. Since ancient times birth control has seen tremendous improvements with effective and safer practices. They include many intrauterine devices (IUDs), implantable birth control, hormonal based such as oral pills, patches, vaginal rings, and injections. In addition to condoms, birth control sponges, and fertility awareness methods, however, there are less productive and behavioral techniques such as withdrawal. Thanks to the revolution on contraceptives, women are more in control, enhancing their opportunities and careers and controlling childbearing. Besides, the Introduction of IVFS has changed the perspective of childbearing hence allowing for planning. Statistics show that children born from planned pregnancies enable the women to be better parents while unplanned pregnancies increase the chances of anxiety and depression. Additionally, relationships that plan to be parents are the happiest. Such an environment is beneficial to the upbringing of a child hence growing both good physically and emotionally, unlike the unplanned ones that end up dissolving, leading to single parenting.

Birth controls have seen different sectors benefiting, including health and economic. With contraceptives, the rate of maternal deaths has decreased by 40% as unplanned pregnancies reduce the chances of unsafe abortions and lengthening the times between pregnancies. They are thus leading to low dependency rates hence an increase in the workforce and overall earnings.
