Books in the Era of Electronic Media
The most important books in my life have been books by motivational speakers and authors. I have been an addict of the success stories and I have found a lot of comfort and warmth in the motivational book. Reading the stories of other people in how they managed to climb up the ladders of success has been crucial to me and has helped me a lot in shaping my life. The motivational books, rather than others that I read for fun and grammar advancements are a source of driving force towards achieving even more for an individual who is willing to transverse the challenges. They have helped me in taking me away from the mentality that success is a short time achievement that one will have just after they are done with their schooling. I have come to know that it takes a lot of fails before one gets a thing right, but the good thing is that, as far as there is a success story from the persistence, no one ever comes to remembers about the stories that revolve around their prior failures. It is only the boldest authors that can acknowledge their own lives and give real-time experiences regarding how awfully or happy their earlier lives were and how much they managed to advance from that.
For most of the books, I go them from the Library. Different situations that I was undergoing in my life require me to have a place where I could get some inspiration to cheer me up about my life. I have been a regular visitor to the Library and when still going through the books, I usually find inspiration books by different writers. I do read through the back cover of the book and then on to the appendix to know whether the authors might have considered different types of audiences in their work. That I because different authors tend to write specifically to the varying audience; some write on students, some talk about businesses, body conditions, or more. On guaranteeing myself that the book would help me make some milestone steps in life, I borrow it at pay for three months to pick the most significant form the particular book. It may seem a hard concept for individuals to buy inspiration books, but I never get tired of picking motivational books regardless of the pay as far as the reading is worth the while.
My early experiences in the libraries were very open and calm. I have been a regular visitor to the library, and I like how the library serve sits people. The only important thing when getting to a library is being ready to follow instructions. A library is a social place where different people interact and every person should be let to full their reason for coming to the library.
Books still form a very elemental part of my life. I would not have made the milestone steps that I have made in my life if it were not for the book that I have read. I am one person who has valued books to the extent that I have all the books that I have ever read in my bookshelf other than the one that I hire from the libraries for a few, which I still note down. Keeping the books has always been a good point of reference for me in case I need any. I am the type of person who will even underline some contents in the book if I will need some reference later on. Books are more like a gem to me, they have created value that I would take even more time to pursue more books.
Times have drastically changed though; people no longer take fun in books and reading them. It would not be a surprise to hear the statement “I hate books” all the time. And for some people like students, if they have to read, then it is because it related to the course work. The transition into a technological world where there are many platforms or content has stolen away most of the people. Even for the individuals who were dedicated to reading, writing, and reviews, the IT developments have changed the orientation.
