Dorsal and Ventral pathways in Visual Processing

The ventral stream emerges from the prefrontal cortex. The ventral stream flows int

o the temporal cortex along the ventral surface, and

the dorsal stream is created by the primary visual cortex. Ventral streams are often known to be a medium of vision for perception, while the dorsal stream is mainly concerned with visually guided re

aching and grasping, based upon moment-to-moment interpretation of the spatial position, form, and orientation of

objects. But it was suggested that the dorsal flux also works with categories for manipulating objects, which are important for the performance of actions, by the brain regions.
