Business Skills: My Learning Diary
Introduction
A learning diary is a formal record of the journal developed for improving experience in the work practice and provides several pieces of evidence on the overall development process. The aim of learning diary provides a basic reflection of an individual student on completing overall objectives on finishing overall course work on time and develops suitable progression of a student. It provides a relevant reflection in a chronological pattern for evaluating the overall progression of the student or individual in the academic career. This type of reflective writing process provides various insights on evaluating perspective on developing suitable knowledge on improving my progression in the future and providing academic excellence (University of Birmingham, 2015). It creates a suitable pattern for providing a systematic analysis of evaluating my perspectives on improving my whole learning of experience in the future.
It also provides a suitable depiction of the systematic steps for preparing for exams and create suitable preparation in the future. In this learning diary, there is a proper analysis of my experiences in my academic career in a suitable process. I am Mark and am undergoing a graduate degree at Cambridge University in England. The reflective essay writing is based on the evaluation of Gibbs Reflection Model, CSR essay and various stages in the reflection essay.
Learning Style
Developing suitable learning style is essential for evaluating and synchronizing findings from the visual learning experiences and draw various inferences regarding opinions. There is an evaluation of apprehending and learning various techniques for improving overall comprehension during overall process. The most effective learning style can be depicted by inferred by creating a suitable impression of providing a systematic learning process and develop suitable ideas for solving problems. It has assisted me in completing my overall work at the right time and formulates a suitable learning style during the whole process (Plymouth University, Learning Development, 2010). In this essay, I have divided the whole work into various sections in accordance with the strengths of our students. I have learned that utilization of an effective communication process among one another has helped in depicting the entire project. In this process, I had to devote extra time to complete most of the sections for completing the whole work and create an intelligence system.
In the first part of the assignment, I felt happy that there was development of wide range of handouts for completing entire work on time. It has created an appropriate process for managing various aspects during the completion of the essay work and also provided me extra guidance for solving overall process. In the later part of the completion of the assignment, I felt really unhappy and lacked motivation for giving enough time for showing a sense of more creativity in the process. I also realized that there should be the development of systematic and convenient word which should be used in the essay and understand the overall process for utilizing suitable learning process. Hence, there was a utilization of an appropriate essay structure developed by me for evaluating design pattern in the whole process. I have also learned that there should be a depiction of a systematic presentation style, CSR essay writing based on the feedback of the tutor.
SWOT
The development of SWOT analysis has assisted me in focusing on my strengths, weakness, opportunities, and threats in the whole process. I have felt that I am very much capable of developing motivation among team members by creating a suitable relationship with one another. In the case of strengths, I have developed strong listening skills and acts as a suitable mediator for improving relationships among one another. It has assisted me in solving various conditions during the crisis during my academic career and maintains good relations with one another. However, my weakness is to not complete the entire work on time and results in procuring negative marks in the exam. I have analyzed that there is a need for solving the inability to complete whole work on time and develop proper motivation for enhancing overall performance in the future(Hampton, 2010). I have opportunity for enhancing my learning experiences by developing relevant information from various teachers and reduce instability in my performance. It will enable me to gain appropriate knowledge for providing suitable information on improving the quality of CSR essay and managing to develop a suitable format within the presentation on the marketing mix. In the threats aspects, I believe that the development of inadequate bonding and understanding among one another results in providing a direct effect on my performance and increase the barrier for disturbing my academic career. Hence, these aspects have provided me with a thorough understanding of creating a suitable process for depicting a wide range of knowledge for improving my performance in my academic career in the future.
CSR Essay Feedback
The teacher has given me marks of 4 out of 5 while writing a reflective essay on CSR and other factors that provide a direct effect on writing the subject. I have failed to depict importance of CSR by evaluating relevant aspects of the essay and also have given less importance on defining other factors related to the phenomenon. There was also a lack of proper understanding of CSR importance in the assignment and the formatting of the presentation was not equal up to the mark. At this point, there was a mistake made by me for not highlighting the development of systematic practices for managing to create systematic CSR practices and also created negative practices about providing whole practice about the concept (ThoughtCo, 2019). During my analysis, I have learned that there was a misconception made by me regarding presenting the concept of CSR essay in an accurate process and does not provide strict highlights on the overall practices. In the discussion and analytical part of the CSR essay, I think that there has been a fault in representing positive and negative aspects of the concept in a suitable procedure which has provided a direct effect on my performance. In the formulation of the discussion part, I have missed focusing on vital aspects relating to the overall quality of the essay regarding CSR and formulate a suitable process for justifying the whole description written in the essay. There was a mistake made by me by not able to adequately link with the principles of CSR Essay during my writing and have provided a negative impression on the tutor. It has led to a reduction in the total marks and has cut down my total marks to 4 out of the total marks available. I have also nit provided an accurate and clear understanding of CSR topics during the writing of the essay during the writing process.
Presentation Feedback
In the presentation part of the marketing mix of Coca- Cola, and Nestle, I have not depicted appropriate pictures and images in every section of the slides and have resulted in reducing overall quality. There was a mistake of not providing a suitable formatting process and regular flaws in starting a presentation with an introduction and summarizing with a conclusion at the end. In the case of marketing mix presentation of Coca- Cola there was a lack of identifying appropriate strategy in presenting various strategies related to 4Ps and maintain a competitive advantage in the market. I have failed to provide relevant evidence regarding the formulation of appropriate strategies developed for managing to obtain the aspect of the presentation. In the various slides, I had made relevant flaws regarding representing the whole presentation in an unprofessional process by not linking the 4PS strategy of the organization in the market. Furthermore, there was an absence of relevant additional slides at the end of the presentation which resulted in procuring a negative image on the mind of the tutor. On the other hand, in the case of providing a presentation on Nestle, I had not summarized various facts on the 4Ps inappropriate bullet points and also failed to depict the meaning of the entire presentation accurately. I have also not created spate slides in the presentation for presenting the whole graph relating to the marketing strategies of Nestle and also provided extra slides during the whole presentation. It has provided a direct effect on the outcome of the presentation and has reduced overall marks in delivering my presentation in front of the tutors in the class (The University of Edinburgh, 2019). I have also learned that effective delivery and representation of the presentation provides an accurate understanding of the marketing mix for both the companies in an elaborated process. The development of suitable analysis in the feedback process will help in improving my presentation in the future.
Preparation & Exam Experience
In writing the essay, I have got a total of 20 out of 30 marks that are 67% of the total marks and I have barely passed in the exam. In preparing the presentation, there was a fault in procuring a systematic structure for presenting in front of the tutor regarding the marketing mix of both companies. During this process, I have learned several aspects while preparing my final projects in the future run and develops a positive impression on the minds of the tutors. I have to rely on providing a relevant depiction of various types of graphs and images in accordance with the 4Ps of marketing for the companies and create a unique strategy for improving the existing image in accordance with the other competitors for the firms. This has helped me in analyzing the importance of providing an effective presentation in the future for presenting in front of the teachers and managing to get high-grade marks. In the case of the essay part, I have failed to provide a discussion on the concept of CSR and relate it to the overall topic. I have made a huge mistake in the understanding effect of the concept on the overall market and rectify various questions regarding the topic (Anon, 2010). During the examination, I became much tensed and was not able to cope up with the pressure for providing clarity on improving my performance in presenting the overall topic regarding presentation and writing essays in an accurate process. I should not have developed to much stress while conducting examinations and failed to provide enhanced performance during the whole examination process. It has provided a direct effect on reducing my total marks and create a negative effect on my academic experience. I have understood that is necessary for providing a positive attitude during performing the entire exam and providing a suitable message to the tutor in the exam time.
Next Steps
In the whole process, I have realized that there was a mistake on my side for improving my experience in presenting a presentation and essay exam in an appropriate process. I had to focus more on evaluating various aspects of providing in-depth information on providing a standardized and quality presentation on marketing mix and essay writing on CSR services. In writing my essay, I failed to provide specific information on the relevant aspects of the importance of the phenomenon in the market and have reduced my overall marks in the tutor. I have not provided a systematic and attractive presentation on the marketing mix of Coca-Cola and Nestle which had reduced total marks from my academic career. In the future, I need to acquire sense of improved creativity in the writing process and improve my knowledge in providing an effective presentation. It will provide me with the basic knowledge of procuring a long-lasting impression on the mind of the teacher and improve my overall performance. In the future step, I have to work on these experiences and develop relevant knowledge on the two aspects to get full marks out of the project and create a positive effect on the mind of the teacher. I have to formulate an innovative thinking process and maintain a wide depth of knowledge for reducing my flaws and presenting my learning in a suitable process. It will procure me with adequate knowledge for improving my quality and provide an effective procedure in the future.
Conclusion
From the above aspect, I have learned that the development of a systematic learning diary is useful for depicting my own experiences while performing in the whole exam. It has helped I reflecting and providing a suitable reflection on various experiences in my academic career in my learning diary and guided me in the future.
