CABINET OR CHARTER
Part 1
Mr Trudeau has upheld the concept of diversity since his assertion to power in 2015. In essence, diversity is seen in the representatives of the elected people. Assertively, there are about half of the women holding different ministries in his government. Moreover, racial diversity is also represented in his government, as there are about seven people who represent racial minorities. Moreover, diversity is also upheld in giving jobs to people all around Canada.
Are different perspectives represented equally?
Indeed in terms of equality, the Justine Trudeau upheld some dimensions of equality in his government. For example, his first cabinet was represented by an equal number of men and women. In essence, there are fifteen men and fifteen women who held up offices in different ministries. This made the cabinet to be named as one which is the most and equally balanced between the number of men and women.[1] Moreover, the offices of the ministers have provided data depicting a continuous increase in the representation of women in the offices. Assertively, until 2019, the appointment of women increased to 50 per cent, this is from 30 per cent that existed before Mr Trudeau ascended to power.
Can you identify any perspectives that were not represented?
However, some fields have been neglected r poorly addressed when it comes to diversity. For example, racial minority representation has only 8 per cent. Even though before Trudeau ascended to power, the percentage representation was at 4 per cent, pulling this representation to be 50 per cent in the government is not a joke. Moreover, most of the senior political staff in the government of Trudeau does not uphold diversity, and neither do they meet the equal representation that the prime minister set off for his cabinet.[2] Despite declaring that his cabinet would “look like Canada,” the senior working staff in the ministries are dominated by the male and whites. The Globe and Mail analysis attest to this when pointing that 14 of the chief staff are women, compared to the men who are 23. Moreover, only four of these 37 chiefs of staffs are racial minorities.
Explain how you feel these factors might influence the government?
Diversity is a broad term that varies from gender, religion, races and even age among other representation. However, one may never abate creativity from diversity. Thus, for a creative government, one who can tackle calamities if they occur, diversity should be upheld.[3] Moreover, representation of the minority groups would mean acceptability of the government thus; representing more of members from the minority groups will intensify the acceptability level.

Reflect on whether or not you feel there are any pros or cons to diversifying the government in this way
Diversification of government in a way that Trudeau did has both the pros and cons. One of the advantages lies in the sharing of powers. When there is diversity in government, power is shared amongst the ministries and thus efficiency.[4] The people in service in the positions are sourced from a variety of fields; however, they really fit and have the required experience. For example, the minorities will knowledgeably discuss issues that affect the minor groups since they are from there.
However, one disadvantage of diversity in government could be seen in its expenses. The government will incur more funds to pay for extra positions so that to meet equality in number representation. Moreover, the selection of people from a diverse community is difficult; thus, some aspect of corruption and embezzlement of government funds may be noted.
Reflect on whether you feel such appointments are representative of the beliefs and values associated with democratic citizenship.
Democratic citizenship entails membership to a particular political democracy. However, democracy in its cause is the rule of the people by the people to the people. However, legal equality, the rule of law and political freedom are outlined in Democratic citizenship. However, it has a conviction that the appointment is the representations in the Trudeau’s regime are associated with democratic citizenship. Assertively, when one sinks in the manifestos of Trudeau, he or she will note that he was after upholding democracy. However, studies have indicated that the people were contented with it and thus, this propelled his ascending to power.[5] Thus, democratic citizenship is upheld, and those appointed to hold ministries are members of the community; thus, power is gotten from the community to lead the government’s functions.
Reflect on whether or not you feel Trudeau’s appointments contribute to the common good
Trudeau’s appointments were absolutely for the common good. Among his fist statements, during the formulation of his first cabinet, Trudeau said he wanted the government to “look like Canada.” [6]This statement alone gives an assertion to the evaluators that he had the Canadian interest at heart. Thus, to make the government look like Canada, he had to make sure that all the people are represented in his government. However, there is only one way to make a representation of the people to the government. This is through diversity. Assertively, has diversity made sure the women were represented; thus, the government had women and men; a real picture of people living in Canada. Moreover, the government saw the increment of the minority representation from four per cent to eight per cent. Thus, one may point at his appointment as one which had good intentions. He never wanted the power to remain in the hands-on a few people, but he wanted an inclusive form f government.
