Cancer Risk Assessment
Through risk assessment on cancer diseases, the probability to suffer from lung cancer can be examined depending on a person’s age. For instance, an individual with exactly 18 years of age cannot easily be assessed on lung cancer. However, with only one year of constant smoking cigarettes, a person’s risk to have lung cancer is below average. Sadly, the probability is above the lowest possible level of having lung cancer. The latter indicates that the individual must have smoked at least two cigarettes per day without influence from other factors, like gas emissions. Such individuals have a higher chance to quit smoking without so much struggle in the process. Besides, being below the average probability of getting lung cancer does not limit a person from being infected by other diseases like a heart attack.
On the contrary, it is accurate that most individuals over the age of 40 years have a higher chance of getting lung cancer depending on their long moments of smoking. Such an individual’s probability of having lung cancer is above average. Sadly, they cannot quit smoking without so many struggles. This indicates that they might need some rehabilitation. It would be right to say that smoking is influential based on the environment one occupies. Lung cancer can also be acquired by passive smokers. That is, the individuals do not smoke directly but live long with people who smoke. They end up consuming the cigarettes passively; thus, they fall under the category of average risk probability of getting lung cancer.
