Literature review in any project allows the researcher to maintain focus within the context of the academic community. Also, it allows one to report in the critical review of the available literature as well as identifying the gap existing between the project and the literature the research aims to address. When reporting on the literature review, one can clarify thoughts about the study. Since literature review is a synthesis of previous researches, it captures the critical information of the source, and that guides the researcher on how the project should be organized. It provides information on how one should plan to investigate a research problem. The organization of a project is similar to that of previous literature thus the use of literature review recommends on areas that a project should focus on as well as illustrating how the project should be organized to achieve its objectives.
After reading the literature this week, I gained insight on how and when literature review can be used in a project. The knowledge and organization of literature review will be used in educating students on the relevance of comparing studies so that the gap can be identified between the existing research and upcoming projects. After reading this week literature, I plan to train new registered nurses on the significance of comparing various researches because I understand a gap exists between different projects and identification of that gap is important for future studies. Also, understanding what is not already captured in existing research guide future projects, which is crucial in scientific studies. I will also use the literature to support and facilitate evidence-based practice in the current healthcare system.
