Also, I will administer pain management medication to reduce restlessness and anxiousness.

Depending on the needs f the patient, all musculoskeletal techniques may not be appropriate for Mrs Z’s case. Thus, in coming up with management strategy I would focus on determining the particular injury resulting in musculoskeletal disorder. Also, I would evaluate the current symptoms of Mrs Z and relate them to the treatment approaches. Besides, I would explore occupational and recreational therapies that could be appropriate in this case. Also, I would determine any psychological and social factors that can affect the recovery timeline for the patient. Since Mrs Z. is staying with his husband, I would come up with management strategies that involve the family members to ensure that the patient is comfortable with the management approaches.
- What referrals might you make for Mrs Z at this time?
Referrals that would be appropriate for Mrs Z would include scheduling for neurology consult to assess any nerve damage. Also, I would refer them to a psychologist or family counsellor to ensure that Mrs Z is aware of the effects of the musculoskeletal condition. Lso, counselling ensures that they are ready for any changes that can result. Also, I would refer her to occupational and recreational therapists to ensure that Mrs Z retains the physical on her leg.
- Who else on the interprofessional team would you involve in Mrs Z’s care?
I would involve a neurologist in Mrs Z care plan to assess the extent of nerve damage as a result of the accident. Also, I would involve occupational and recreational therapists to ensure that during recovery, Mrs Z can use her right limb well. Also, I would bring on board a psychologist to ensure that the patient is psychologically prepared for the recovery journey.
In conclusion, the management of a patient with the musculoskeletal disorder is essential in ensuring that the patient retains their physical ability and reduce the pain. Also, management ensures that nurses have a plan that meets the needs of the patient and that of their family. In this case, involving other medical practitioners in the treatment care for Mrs Z ensures that all the treatment options are available which enhances the recovery of the patient.
