Absolute and comparative advantage are the primary principles in international trading. Absolute advantage is noted when the producer offers competitive products with fewer resources. In other cases, such a producer can produce similar products in less time. Comparative advantage weighs different opportunities and costs to understand the viability of a given product and account for alternative products. Therefore, this presents an opportunity for trading partners to choose one option over the other. In many cases, the producers benefit by taking a step of achieving a competitive or comparative advantage. Trading between countries takes advantage of its capacity to produce different goods that many countries do not produce. Some have more resource and therefore aims to acquire an opportunity to export them to those countries that lack similar resources. Many countries have to weigh the benefits of producing specific goods to ensure that the method benefits a specific country. Opportunity cost is achieved when a country chooses one alternative. For this case, the other alternatives are lost, and therefore a country could lose an opportunity of gaining dominance in a specific…

The Menace of California’s Overcrowded Prison System The state of California had a huge population in states prisons. Dwindling budgets for the prisons also created a health crisis. Three policies, namely, The Public Safety Realignment Act (AB 109), Proposition 47 (Prop 47), and Proposition 57 (Prop 57), were initiated to curb the threat. The AB 109 policy’s complex paroling system brings confusion on follow-ups on the offenders. Prop 47 lowers penalties, thus encouraging increased criminal activities. Prop 57 ignores an offender’s criminal history posing a threat in society. As a voter who supported both policies, I acknowledge the proper reception of information concerning these policies. But I decry the scanty details on their implementation. The titles of these propositions dot not align with their contents. Crime reduction is not well considered as they are more on cutting costs. The AB 109 fails to address the issue of petty offenders as there is no proper laid-out plan to determine positive change carefully and the probability reverting to old ways. The crime rates surged upwards because of Prop 47 and Prop57. The…
The Code of Hammurabi The Hammurabi code had a massive impact on the legal system’s laws and moral values in the American legal system. The Hammurabi code reflects on the moral values in the entire society. Additionally, the code also has information on how particular situations were handled in ancient Babylonia. According to the Hammurabi code, the nobles were ranked above the slaves and freedmen. Besides, wealthy individuals in society were also considered best in the community (Behroozi Mehrnaz, & Behrokh Jamali, 2019). Crimes involving the rich men were not handled equally compared to the crimes of slaves. Moreover, if an individual were involved in a crime against a noble individual, there would be severe punishment as a result. Opposed to this, the rich men were often used to offending the slaves and experiencing less severe penalties. The society was characterized by a significant social gap between the noble persons and the slaves. According to Hammurabi’s laws, the nobles should not take advantage of their position and exploit the weak in society. Life in Babylon was stratified, and people had…
