Personality and Freud: Principle Theories and Theorists According to Freud, in his famous psychoanalytic theory, the human personality is complicated with more than one component, which encompasses the superego, the ego and the id as the primary principles. Each principle contributes to the uniqueness of human personality and interacts in a way to have a powerful influence on an individual with each element of personality emerging at different stages of life (Tatubeket, 2017). Freud argues that some elements of the human personality are more primal and, as a result, tend to force an individual to act upon the most basic urges.
