Discussion Question 1 Reply to Alissa Hall Hello Alissa, one of the achievements of the consensus model was to establish standards of practice that APRN nurses all over the country adhere to. For nurses, professional standards describe the competency level required in their daily activities. The standards of practice provide nurses with the desired and achievable performance indicator, by which they can compare their performance (Charlotte, 2014). Furthermore, these Standards play numerous roles in the nursing profession, including acting as evaluation tools for nurses’ performance. Nurses are expected to compare the quality of the services provided with the minimums provided in the standards of practice. Additionally, the standards of practice ensure that the nurses attain and maintain the professional proficiency associated with APRNs (Willson & Angell, 2017). The standards provide a framework for establishing the professional proficiency of nurses and act as a checklist against which their performance is graded. References Charlotte, D. (2014). Dissolved Oxygen and Biochemical Oxygen Demand Introduction In determining the extent of organic pollution, the two parameters that have been used include (DO) and Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD). The widely used parameter for monitoring organic pollutants in wastewater is BOD. BOD has an international standard method of the five-day assay (BOD5). During the assay, BOD measures the quantity of dissolved oxygen that would be needed for the microbial oxidation of carbon organic matter within specified conditions (Pasco & Hay, 2005). In the presence of organic pollutants, the amount of dissolved oxygen will decline following their decomposition. During the laboratory session, determining the dissolved oxygen (DO0) and the dissolved oxygen in seven days (DO7) are used in estimating the BOD5. The values of DO0 and DO7 will be used in estimating the BOD5. Dissolved oxygen (DO) DO is a measure of the actual amount of free oxygen that is dissolved in water. DO is determined by two factors; polluting loading and natural cleaning. Therefore, DO measured in milligram per liter (mg/L), will reflect the extent of water pollution. In the presence…

Distributed systems Introduction Distributed systems involve the interaction of many devices operating individually but sharing the same memory storage on a network. Having extensive interconnections leads to complex management of objects and processes. To achieve numerous health operations and reliability of these devices, mechanisms to detect faults were developed. However, eruptions of problems have reduced the effectiveness of fault detection in distributed systems. Problems Fault detectors are mainly built to prevent mistakes that may occur in the system and alters the functionality and normal running of the system. Although they prevent the system from such occurrence, fault still persists due to the model nature of the distributed system. Distributed system failures are regarded as non-deterministic. They are partial faults that occur unpredictably. They usually happen at any time in the system, making it hard for the system detectors to recognize such failures (Lamport, Shoutak, 2019). According to Lamport (2019), system failure allows some application programs to run despite system errors, while others are entirely corrupted and crashed. The behavior arises due to many interconnections and becomes difficult to identify…

Top 5 Components of HVAC Systems You Need To know. Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems provide heating and cooling to residential and commercial buildings. The system uses fresh air from outdoors to provide high indoor air quality. The system helps in controlling humidity, temperature, and airflow. A great HVAC system not only aims to keep your home comfortable, but it also helps keep your indoor air clean through the concept of heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics. Below are the various components of the HVAC system that makes it work appropriately. Thermostat This component of the system activates the heat exchanger or coil condensing unit to disseminate warm or fresh air accordingly. It is usually installed on the wall and can be programmed or manually set to keep your home at the desired temperatures. A programmable thermostat can help you save on power bills as it can fine-tune your home’s temperature even in your absence. Condensing unit You can find this unit outside your home. It is packed with refrigerant gas and linked to the…

As further studies on the impact of culture on an individual, one fundamental aspect of culture that raises concerns is the impact of culture on mental health. Over the years, scientists have discovered that there are several psychiatric illnesses associated with culture among various communities across the world (Lewis-Fernández and López 15). For instance, Ataque de nervios affects the Latino community. Understanding the classification of culturally bound syndromes is important in the diagnosis and treatment of culture-related psychological conditions. Ataque de nervois is mostly common in Spanish speaking communities from the USA and Caribbean. In English, it is known as the attack of the nerves. Nervois has measured anxiety levels. Some of the symptoms associated with the condition include increased physical aggression levels, increased strengths, increased sensitiveness to heat in the chest and the head, dissociative experiences, increased verbal aggressiveness, and uncontrolled shouting, crying, lamentation (Lewis-Fernández and López 242). These reactions are associated with the occurrence of a stressful event,…
