A Society without Class Segregation is Doomed to Stagnation. Class segregation is the structured and enforced differences between groups of people within a community, nation, or establishment. Before modern democracy and free will, societies controlled class segregation based on personal predispositions such as race, religion, convictions, locality, and alliances. Conversely, after the introduction of constitutional equality, class segregation became a factor of social, political, and economic paradigms. The debate on merits and demerits of class segregation takes multiple perceptive based on the nature of the case and the circumstances surrounding the segregation. Although there are obvious disadvantages of class segregation, a society without it is doomed to stagnation subsequent reduced incentives for class mobility. Karl Marx used the conflict theory to delineate the underlying nature of a normal the society. He argued that societies are in a perpetual state of conflict as individuals and groups scramble for the limited resources. This predominant characteristic of society helps people and systems to readjust based on resources accumulation, power, and other agreed-on methods that uphold a functional society. MORAL PLURALISM Timmons notes on pluralism Mark Timmons’s sentiments found in “Moral Theory” form some essential ethical tenets. It is apparent, systematic, erudite, organized, non-superficial and fair. I, therefore, recommend it for use in ethical theories. I can also support its use by teachers and graduate students of philosophy. The moral argument by Timmons covers theories such as relativism, utilitarianism, Kantianism, virtue ethics and particularism. I like the organization of the book. Starting with relativism or moral pluralism, Timmons points out that values can conflict along with one resolution, the doctrine of double effect. Timmons opines the best moral theory is pluralistic. Moral pluralism is the notion that there can be conflicting moral views that are worthy of respect or attention. Moral values should be analyzed in from several points of view before deciding for a course of action. Timmons pointed out that no single philosophical approach can provide all the answers. Timmons thus encourages moral pluralism in making ethical decisions (Graham et al., 2016). Definitions Moral monism This is the ability to make moral decisions using one valid…
Rabies Virus Rabies virus is a microbe that causes rabies. The virus is transmitted to mammals through bites or scratch from infected animals. While the virus is preventable, rabis swiftly affects that nervous system and transports it to the brain, causing death. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) (2019) reported that a significant majority of highlighted viral cases and mainly from bats, skunks, foxes, and raccoons (par. 1). Although rabies virus can affect any mammal, some mammals indicate a higher rate of transmission than others. Rabies belongs to the main order of Mononegavirales, which are non-segmented negatively-stranded RNA genomes (CDC, 2019). Since they have a distinct bullet shape, rabies virus falls under the broader Rhabdoviridae family under the genus Lyssavirus (CDC, 2019). Rabies is 100% once the symptoms indicate, and 99% of the cases in humans are caused by dogs (World Health Organization [WHO], 2020). Rabies is present in every continent, except Antarctica. However, 95% of mortality rates are reported in Africa and Asia (WHO, 2020). The control of the viral mortality rate needs a deep understanding…
Mother Teresa was a very nice nun who was determined and dedicated her whole life to helping those living in poverty. Mother Teresa spent her entire life, making the rest of the people look bad by putting all her effort, time, and energy on serving the poor. She was an Albanian who lived in the Ottoman Empire during her childhood and later went to India to become a nun when she was 18. Until 35, she continued to serve diligently as a teacher and a nun. However, it was at 35 when she decided to dedicate all her time to help the needy individuals around her. Therefore, she quit being a nun and chose to start Missionaries of Charity, which was responsible for assisting the poor and sick people in having a better life in what was termed as “those living like animals could die like angels.” This mission made her famous, and she even expanded her work abroad, eventually serving poor people from 133 nations with the help of 4500 sisters. In 1979, she won the Nobel Peace Prize…
2008 and 2018 shift After watching a 2008 and 2018 shift happens video, the general impression is that the world is changing and growing at an exponential rate. Most importantly, technology is the change and the driver for change. Both videos make the impression that at any given time, the world is different than the world; it was a few years back more so in the contemporary world, which is driven by technology and knowledge. There are evident significant changes in the two videos. In 2018, four generations traditionalist, boomers, Gen X and the millennials were working side by side, and yet they have a different view of the world. Moreover, the number of registered users of Facebook as compared to 2008 had grown exponentially to 2.2 billion in 2018. In 2018, the iPhone was an essential part of human life, yet they did not exist in 2008. Moreover, the number of internet devices has grown from less than a billion in 2006 to 9 billion in 2018. Notable is the change in Google searches every month, in 2008, 2.7…
Technology Hindering Human Care Technological inventions are taking over all aspects of human life, and the health care system has not been left behind since it has also adopted some of the inventions. According to BORYCKI et al., nursing abilities are one of the most significant competencies in the modernized health care system (BORYCKI et al., 2017). Due to the new technology inventions such as electronic health records and clinical documentation systems, nurses have had to change how they take care of their patients. This paper aims at showing how the change brought by technology in the hospital has made the patient feel sidelined and how the nurses and doctors can reassure their patients to be on board with the new technology. Wei stated that the Watson Human Caring Theory is based on promoting patients’ psychological health (Wei & Watson, 2019). According to Angelo, nurses’ primary concern is to care for their patients and improve their health and well-being (Angelo, 2019). however, this is not the case in the modernized hospitals because, according to Angelo, nurses are spending most of…

The pioneers in this paradigm are Raymond Brown and Louis Martyn. Since their first commentary work on the gospel, other scholars have looked at the Johannine community as a separate group that is varying to other Christian and Jewish community groups. Among the underlying concern to this issue are the abandoning customs on unique history exegesis in backing synchronic styles. These customs focus on Johannine text as it is with basis on the…
MONETARY POLICIES The USA experienced a tremendous financial crisis in 2008 that in words of Ben Bernanke, ‘It was the worst in world history exceeding the Great Depression. The crisis resulted in brutal effects on the US population, rendering them unemployed and an overall negative economic growth. The ‘great recession’ though an avoidable crisis, was triggered by extensive failures in financial regulation and the dramatic collapse in corporate governance. The consistent system failures disordered the movement of credit to corporations and consumers. The housing bubble drove the US economy that when it busted, private residential investment dropped by above four per cent of the GDP. Consumption aided by bubble-generated housing riches slowed down. The combination of banks incapable of giving funds to homeowners and businesses, paying down liability relatively than borrowing and spending, caused the 2008 great recession. The European and American economists, the primary culprit of the calamity, was financial supervision and regulation. As the recession and financial crisis deepened, the government had to have an immediate response through measurements purposed to revive economic growth where they implemented fiscal…
Monoclonal antibodies in drug targeting INTRODUCTION The main reason for drug targeting is to do a delivery of drugs to a particular site of action via carrier system. In cancer chemotherapy, cytotoxic drugs kill’s cancerous cells while healthy cells are being damaged. Monoclonal antibodies that are generated against a particular antigen, when cytotoxic drugs are conjugated, can carefully do the delivery of cells of cancer while damage to normal cells is minimized. With all available carrier systems, there is high importance gained by monoclonal antibodies because of their high specificity. When there is selective drug delivery to their site of action, it should improve the therapeutic effectiveness while the unwanted side effects are being minimized. Always drugs have limited access to the intended site of the battle, or it is quickly metabolized. Also, the drug distributes freely all over the body, more so, it can’t only act on the intended tissue, but it can lead to adverse effects on the tissue that was not a target. With drug targeting, the drug is linked reversibly to the pharmacologically inert and…
