Section 1 The course has equipped me with a lot of information concerning advocacy and disability rights. I have realized disability advocate can imply to diverse things in accordance with the type of advocacy that one is alluding to. Through the knowledge attained from the course, it’s easy to note that two types of advocacy touches of legal and social advocacy. Another important information from the course is that legal disability involves advocacy from professionals whose aim is to litigate for disability rights for the disability people. In contrast, social advocacy focus is directed towards social change as well as public policy. The course has equipped with skills of identifying issues affecting the society and identify the best strategy to apply and handle them. As far as professional perspective is concerned, I have managed to realize that advocacy is crucial in the workplace to ensure that the well being of people with disabilities is catered according to the set laws. Central Idea: Three aspects of the economics of being a woman include: women’s wages, how women spend more on essential products, and the societal costs of being female. Introduction: Attention: Several years ago, when my brother and I were at Target, my mom handed each of us a $20 bill and said we could choose whatever we wanted. My brother came back with deodorant, a pack of gum, a bag of Doritos, and a pack of 3 shirts. I returned with a single shirt. At first glance, it may appear that my brother was better at spotting good deals than me. In reality, women have to spend more than men: this is the economics of being a woman. Credibility: This is a topic I really care about and I’ve spent a lot of time researching. It greatly impacts the population, including me and many people in…
cannabis Contrary to public opinion, cannabis isn’t as harmful as alcohol. Instead, it has a range of health benefits for consumers. So far, every anti-drug ad promoted weed as a menacing plant, which is merely an exaggerated distortion of facts. Some pieces of information about cannabis effects on the human body aren’t even correct. Many advertisements show people falling off the rails comically to establish a link between delinquent behaviors and cannabis consumers. Whatever scenario the ads depict, they all share a common mission: present cannabis as one of humanity’s biggest threats. But, one might ask why these anti-drugs ad campaigns never show alcohol in a similar, negative light, despite being much more harmful than weed? Though we have been watching ads on alcoholism for decades, and alcohol’s adverse health effects are widely known. Still, a majority of alcohol ads feature parties or adventure as their central theme. All that we get is a “Drink Responsibly” disclaimer after a rather celebratory or feel-good commercial. Such misleading marketing campaigns have been convincing people for decades that cannabis is highly dangerous while…
government roles In the establishment of government, roles are distributed between different arms of the government. The operations of the government are in such a way that a hierarchy of orders is established. This implies that orders mostly come from up in the hierarchy. The establishment of a hierarchy creates a unity of command. People who are higher up in the hierarchy generally have ore authority. A subordinate has to accept the decisions made by those who are up in the food chain. The systems created by the government have met challenges due to the politics that are involved in public administration. Public administrators’ acts are supposed to be based on the needs of the people. The government is usually selected by the people and should therefore always work to better the lives of the people. An example of such an instance is the development of technology which has increased the machinery which can replace manual labour. However, the adoption of such machinery implies that a lot of employees would have to be laid off as their labour has been…
How Osteogenesis Imperfecta affects the Pulmonary System Abstract Osteogenesis Imperfecta is known to occur at the rate of 1 in 20,000 individuals. Research shows that it affects both males and females in equal frequency. It is also not subjective to a specific racial group. The deaths resulting from Osteogenesis Imperfecta depend on how severe the situation is. The study aims at discovering how OI affects the pulmonary system and what could get done to salvage the situation. Data on the disorder was gathered from various literature sources. Analysis of the data collected was carried, and it was evident that Osteogenesis Imperfecta does affect the pulmonary system resulting in various respiratory infections. Further research could get implemented to determine other systems that could be affected by OI. Introduction No situation is ever that serious until it hits closer to home. Over the past three years, I have been a volunteer at a Children’s home. And that is where I met Patel, a boy twenty years of age diagnosed with Osteogenesis Imperfecta at the tender age of twelve years. He has…

Struggle for Equal Rights by African Americans Although the Modern Civil Rights movements gained increased recognition in the 1940s, this is not to mean that the 1940s was the onset of the struggle for civil rights in the USA. On the contrary, the 1940s was the peak of the campaigns and civil rights movements against the continued oppression of African-Americans in the country. African-Americans were regarded as vital economic inputs in plantations in the Southern states, thus pitting coloured communities against the dominant white race. The debates on slavery and marginalization of African-Americans did serve as trigger factors to the American Civil War. While the Southern states were supportive of slavery, the Northern states called for the upholding of the rights of all racial groups in the country. Although the passing of both the Fifteenth and the Fourteenth Amendment sought to foster equal rights among all groups, this was not necessarily the case. The emergence of many civil rights movements in the country can be linked to the marginalization of coloured communities by the dominant white race. African-Americans were viewed…
Title: IMPORTANCE OF ROOF MAINTENANCE. Getting an experienced contractor to help you with roof maintenance is the right turn to keep your roof in good shape and ensure that you are safe in extremely egregious weather conditions. Lucidly, as known, the roof is the essential guard against snow, rainfall, falling tissues from the atmosphere, and many others. Under roof maintenance, fixing potential leaks, trimming of encroaching tree branches, removing molds, lichens, and other tissues that cause gutter clogging is the standard course. Having a good roof of your head is a safety guarantee in all sorts of weather anomalies. Concisely roofs cannot remain in the same condition as when installed; therefore, maintenance is the way to go. What’s the importance of a roof? Roofs act as a shield against rainfall, storm, snow, hail, and heat. Roofs need tender care as they face all sorts of weather hazards and become vulnerable to further blow; therefore, if maintenance is neglected, the roof’s lifespan drops drastically. Why is roof maintenance essential? Weather hazards and chemical fragments present in the atmosphere majorly contribute to…
HIST 1301 2. Yes. The formation of a racially-based slave labor system was inevitable in colonial Virginia. Before the 1660s, the legal system of Virginia oscillated between tacitly recognizing the relative equality of persons of African descent and their inferiority. The early Virginian slave law was instituted to eliminate any ambiguities inherent in the customary practices, which gave recognition of the interests in people. From the beginning, black labor was accorded different treatment from white labor. Legally, the basis of white labor in colonial Virginia was contracted, and ordinarily, the white laborers in colonial Virginia possessed indentures that specifically stated a specified period of time in which their labor would be the property of their masters. Customarily, the majority of the Africans in colonial Virginia did not arrive under voluntary status and thus were not subject to any legal protection against perpetual servitude. Furthermore, the services offered by the Africans were not safeguarded under any law. The unequal treatment of African labor compared to white labor was also evident in colonial Virginia in that there were statutory provisions that safeguarded…
