The conviction of Alexander William Holmes If I were the jury proceeding over the conviction of Alexander William Holmes, I would have keenly disagreed over the decision of the conviction. The main purpose of my decision would be on the question of justifiable manslaughter, which lied on the looming of harm. If I were the jury, I would have placed myself in Holmes’s situation and try to think of a better idea in such a situation in which someone leads to no other way that the one Holmes took.  The judge argues that sailors have to ensure the sailors; however, this is not the only belief that can view Holme’s actions. In my interpretation, Holmes sacrifices one group over the other.  The sailors who left on a different boat were supposed to ensure the remaining ones’ safety and not risk their lives and leave the passengers stranded in the sea. The sailors knew their duties very well and that it was their duty, and that why remain to make sure that the other group was safe. The situation that Holmes…

Studying at McMaster University Dalian Maple Leaf International School Jinshitan National Holiday Resort Dalian, Liaoning Province P.R China 116650     Dear Sir or Madam,   I have been studying here for six years as a Dalian Maple Leaf International School student. I also searched for the basic requirements for admission on the university’s official website. After a long period of thought, I believe that McMaster University will be my best school. That consideration involves three factors of my own. I like to be in a quiet place. McMaster University is located in Hamilton, a relatively bustling city in Canada.…

HIV/AIDs This paper explores a global infectious disease, HIV/AIDs, to make a recommendation on prevention strategies of an outbreak. Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a disease that attacks the body’s immune system making it incapable of fighting the infection and other illnesses. The virus which scientists believe came from a chimpanzee in around 1920 was only known in 981 when it spread out to many people. Although the origin is Congo, an outbreak started in America, Spain, Swaziland, and France. This paper covers the disease development and spreading with exact years of occurrence. The study also explores HIV epidemiologic triage, revealing that it spreads through ordinary social behaviors such as sex and sharing of needles. HIV requirescontact of body fluids, including blood, virginal discharge, and semen, to pass from one person to another. The disease uniqueness as the paper explores attracts stigma, and fear creating a significant impact on the normal operations in schools, governments, and hospitals. There is, therefore, the need to have education and campaigns about HIV prevention and transmission, as the paper recommends to prevent an outbreak. Keywords:…

Basic Measurement Concepts Student X’s assessment data reflect the value underneath which the scores of the 24 students fall at the classroom level. It indicates that nearly all the students have scored less than 62% score. The 96th percentile is the score beneath which 96% of all the students are found. Proportionately, 4% of the student’s results should be found above the 96th percentile. From the calculation, 4% x 26 = 1.04, it is definite that one student is above student X in terms of score and by a far range from the majority 96%. Therefore, the formative assessment of data for student X will determine the instructional interventions and adjustments to be used in class by the tutor (Dixson & Worrell, 2016). The presentation of Student X’s assessment data is a percentile or % correct matter to indicate the relativity to the 100% potential of the scores. The percentile indicates the correspondence to the confidence interval of the students’ results (Miller, 2020). Student X score was chosen as the reference percentile since the student’s score was closer to the other studstudents’ge yet high…

Visual text A visual text may be regarded as one of the fancy ways of saying an image. This is when it is related to analyzing texts as well as English (Wilson, 2017). Whatever being examined is usually in the visual medium. Examples of the visible text include pictures, covers, posters, and frames from videos and movies.  There are several kinds of techniques that accompany visual texts. His first technique is that different colors may have different meanings and influence on the message being communicated. The text may also have lighting and vectors together with a gaze that must be thoroughly considered while analyzing the text. Allusions may also be a part of visual text. They are references to other images that include art, films, religious icons, and pop culture (Cappello and walker, 2016). There are several instances where the form of parody may recontextualize and change meaning on the media’s originality. Lines are also other crucial elements found in visual texts. They provide the direction of the image that is grounded on angles or lines within. Facial expressions also…

Behavior change The concept of behavior change can best be described as modifying or modifying the aspect of human behavior. Various aspects are attributed to behavior change, which includes the aspect of mental illness that is attributed to various factors that include illness, genetics, experience, or physical injury. Other factors that can translate to behavior change include anxiety, PSTD, bipolar disorder, and depression (Sailor, Dunlap, Sugai, & Horner, 2008). The efforts employed in promoting generalized behavior change are significantly enhanced by having to adhere to the five guiding principles. Generalized behavior change significantly entails the aspect of systematic planning. The initial step subject to the promotion of generalized behavior change is the selection of target behaviors that are subject to meeting the natural existing reinforcement contingencies.
