Change theories that could lead to an interdisciplinary solution
A three-step model by Lewin was the most appropriate theory to be used in the interdisciplinary solution. This model encompasses three distinct steps: unfreezing and moving, also known as changing and finally freezing. The first step, known as unfreezing, entails making people aware of a problem in the facility. The freezing stage is essential in helping people move from or get away from old ways of doing things and undo a more current equilibrium. The second step, which is the moving or changing step, looks for other methods and demonstrates or shows the benefits or advantages of change. The final step, which is known as freezing, helps in the creation of new and better systems while at the same time integrating to make the changes stable. A plan to do study act (PDSA) is also another method that is essential in the implementation of change since it helps in testing change on a small scale or is very important in testing change at every stage.
Leadership strategies that could lead to an interdisciplinary solution
A plan to do study act, also known as PDSA, is critical in creating change. This is because this method aids in the creation of change within a small setting or at every stage to ensure that the required change will benefit the health facility. The administration’s role of admission or discharging can incorporate the PDSA method while carrying out the study on the economic or financial implication of discharging or admitting the staff in a particular section or unit of the facility. The problem was first identified, the appropriate plan was put in mind, followed by the implementation of the plan in mind, and then a study or analysis of the problem carried out within approximately three months—the finding as per the study presented to the necessary stakeholders. The effects of change in the health facility can be studied adequately by using the PDSA method; thus, the various changes in the stakeholders can be, and other interdisciplinary personnel can be analyzed appropriately.
