Charges against first nation chief dropped.
The charges tabled against Allan Adam the First Nation Chief Athabasca Chipewyan were dropped on Wednesday following a hearing that accompanied police dashcam release that portrayed an officer punching him. Carla Jones, the Alberta Justice spokeswoman, did mention in a statement that there was an easement of the prosecution that was available with the evidence and, for that matter, dropped the charges of assault and resist of the arrest. I am, therefore, writing the above to demonstrate how the police force is taking into action to violate the fundamental rights of the citizens instead of protecting the citizens. The great work came to be solved at a provincial court in Fort McMurray in Alberta.
Therefore, I think that video evidence plays a very critical role in the provision of proof whenever there is a violation of rights against individuals by the state. From the above scene, the Canadian Royal Police, therefore, produces footage that displays the occasion in which the arrest of Adams takes place. The above footage is consequently released to the public to serve as part of the defense background to have the charges dropped. The high incidence is a very shocking occurrence, and to an extent, Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister, termed the above act as an appalling incidence. Within the footage, a police officer is witnessed using his arm to charge Adam with his arm and elbow tackling up and forcing him to the ground. The video evidence also displays a police officer. However, Adam thinks that he did nothing wrong, and his wife can also attest to that. The problem here is about an expired license plate. And I am not sure if the above issue could escalate (The Associated Press, 2020).
