Children should first learn from their parents
It is believed that charity begins at home. Therefore, anything that children learn, they should first learn of them from their parents, and not in school. Just like any other subject that concerns the youth, safe drinking should first be taught at home. Parents are expected to be the first life’s teachers of their children, and that is why they should be the ones to introduce their children to safe drinking.
Other cultures view underage drinking as something that should be unheard of. Children are not supposed to be exposed to such until they reach of age. Other cultures understand that children are likely to consume a lot of alcohol because they do not have control over themselves. Thus, they are likely to misbehave and get addicted at a tender age. These cultures uphold that children should refrain from drinking at all costs.
Parents should not allow friends of their teenage children to drink in their homes. First, parents are expected to be responsible people, and they should watch out for any bad behaviour that the children carry out. Parents should be the first people to condone children when they go wrong and lead them in the right direction. Therefore, allowing friends of teenage children is not an ideal option because the law prohibits underage children from consuming alcohol. The fact is that if parents find out that their children were drinking under the watch of other parents, then there would be a lot of trouble, as people would think that their children get the wrong influence from their friends.Regardless of whether the children are theirs or not, parents should take good care of the children under their watch and ensure that they refrain from the use of alcohol and other related substance.
