Civilization in the fifteenth century
Discussion 15
Ming China, the Renaissance of Europe, and civilizations of the Islamic world brought civilization in all sectors in the fifteenth century. They brought significant reform to the culture best known by the inhabitants during that period. The societies became more advanced in terms of innovation and power accelerated by the dense population in the developed cities. They facilitated the adoption of new economic activities rather than pastoralism and farming.
The Mongol rule had led to the domination of foreign rule, which the Ming Dynasty eliminated. The dynasty helped revive the civil service examination system and create a centralized government (Strayer, 2016, p. 568). A lot of acres were transformed into land for cultivation and construction. Under the Ming dynasty, China experienced the most significant maritime expeditions in history.
The Renaissance of Europe marked the development of an efficient tax system, administration, and building of strong military forces. The Renaissance led to the revival of a long-lost tradition known as Greco-Roman (Strayer, 2016, p. 570). It also brought a passion for art leading to a rise of artistic society. The transformation of the Islamic world mostly impacted the political world, establishing four great empires, including the Ottoman, Safavid, Songhay, and Mughal. It also brought about the transformation of culture in the empires as many converted into Islam.
