There are numerous or a couple of reasons why mythology is usually more complicated subjected than other fields or subjects. One of the reasons is that most of the myths are generally very old and frequently are in the form of numerous versions. This is attributed to many myths that are usually in different forms, and it may be a result of working from various myth versions. Furthermore, it touches on other extensive fields, such as psychology, literature, science, sociology, anthropology, and history, making it hard to understand this concept from this blend of areas.
Another difficulty experienced when tackling mythology subject is that it is ordinarily open to numerous interpretations. These interpretations begin from understanding them as historical facts record to being deliberate fictions. This difficulty costs scholars an extended duration of time trying to argue about the mythology subject. Additionally, it contains too much knowledge, which is quite extensive, with numerous information to learn.
The video asserts that the benefit or advantage of studying mythology to offer a key to human society is usually a subject or matter of the historical records. As such, it is imperative to study mythology and make frequent references from them to satisfactorily conduct negotiations or make out an argument (Martin, 2016). Making these references during negotiations or making arguments usually facilitates communication.
When learning or presenting mythology interpretations, it is vital to consider that the interpretations or the learnings are not taken as facts. This is because perceiving them as truth or fact creates confusion, leading to frequent arguments, which should be highly avoided during these periods. People should only view or see myths as literary artifacts or stories to easily enable one to enjoy and think about the myths besides their value structures on religious beliefs.
