Classroom management for Grade 7
Classroom rules are vital in ensuring there is order and enhanced discipline among the students and teachers. The two fundamental rules are: Treat others as you would like to be treated and, secondly, be responsible, and use common sense.
Treat others as you would like to be treated.
It is a golden rule that will promote respect, order, harmony, and unity in a class. The rule will ensure that the classroom becomes lively students knowing that no one is favored irrespective of the cultural or social background. Besides, I believe that this rule is essential because it is covering all aspects of class that ensures all students treat each other with respect, without biasness, favoritism, or compromise.
Be responsible and use common sense.
Being responsible as a student is important because it reminds them why they are school; hence, ensuring that they strive to achieve the set goals and objectives. Additionally, being responsible means that students use common sense of caring for others, being courteous, polite, and knowing what is right or wrong. The rule is important because it maintains order in class, and students will know that they are in school to learn, and the tutor is to teach. Also, it ensures the classroom is safe because everyone is responsible, coupled with a common sense where they know the importance of punctuality, doing assignments, and all other essential aspects in school without supervision or coercion.
The Point system is a classroom management system where the teacher will encourage and reward acceptable behaviors and discouraging misbehavior in a class. Those with good practices are rewarded with more points and the ones misbehaving; some points are deducted depending on rules they broke. The point system will encourage students to behave well because those with more points can be rewarded with school trips, stationery, scholarships, and promotion to leadership positions in the school based on adherence to the rules.
