Cognitive impairment on the elderly
How does life quality among and elderly people affect cognitive impairment and influence daily activities? Cognitive impairment among elderly ripples in society leads to a lack of concentration, trouble remembering previous events, and learning. According to Chang, in the journal of nursing research (2017), the characteristics of mild cognitive damage is a decline in cognitive capabilities of an older person while according to Lee, in the clinical nursing research (2017), MCI among the elderly people in Korea is attributed to dementia (Chang et al., 2017). In both journals, the quality of life in which elderly people are exposed to Hindu society plays a significant role in mild cognitive damage. But her research journals suggest that MCI among elderly leads to poor motor coordination and identity confusion
The quality of life the elderly are exposed to while in healthcare facilities influence an individual’s ability to make daily decisions. Poor motor coordination among older people results in the quality of life, and society provides to the elderly. Poor interactions between the elderly and society expose the elderly vulnerability on mild cognitive impairment. Older adults who interact with others in society, especially the young generation, enhance their remembering capability (Umanath & Marsh, 2014). Unprogressive societal practices towards the elderly such as abuse, lead to anxiety and therefore reducing the quality of life individuals are exposed to. The reduced quality of life towards the elderly in society leads to mental disorders hand mild cognitive impairment. Individuals exposed to poor life quality lose their remembering capability leading to loss of long term and short-term memory—judgment capability among the elderly exposed to poor quality of life in the society and becomes impaired. Research identifies identity confusion among the elderly generation in a community with poor health care. Older people tend to forget who they are and their contribution to society leading to mild mental damage (Corrigan, Druss & Perlick, 2014). Any quality of life the society rates for the elderly define solubility to make the right decisions in their late age hence mitigating the effects of cognitive disorders. Mild cognitive damage among the elderly who are exposed to poor healthcare in society increases every day. And the ability to make the right decisions among the elderly depends on the mental state of the individuals. Individual mental state among the elderly can be influenced by interactions with members of the society with a sober mental state. Assisting the elderly to remember their previous encounters creates a feeling of acceptance and productivity in the community among the elderly (Fotoukian et al., 2014).
