Community healthcare
Community healthcare generally involves the provision of health services to a specific society. My community has extensively benefitted from some of the surrounding health care facilities and their community-based initiatives. This is evidenced by some of the built care facilities that offer to support people and ensure care at all times. For instance, there has been an incorporation of a nursing home to help the elderly in the community, especially those with chronic illnesses such as cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and kidney failure. Other people have also been integrated to help all those people with severe complications and to manage some of the long-term health disorders of patients within the community. Some of the other informative and community-based lineups include drug and substance abuse, unexpected pregnancies, physical activity, and nutrition.
I can attest that my community has benefited a lot from some of the community and health services provided by professionals. Research indicates that most of the extra community-support activities take place in individual’s homes (Taylor, Coates, Wessels, Mountain & Hawley, 2015). Groups of physicians, as well as nurses, usually manage care by working with some of the specialists from the social care unit and General Practitioners. It is depicted that health is dependent on several community elements and processes and not just a properly functioning medical and healthcare structure (Henderson, Horne, Hills & Kendall, 2018). Besides people’s homes, community-based initiatives and educational activities usually take place in health care settings, schools, and work areas. Hence the versatility of the community’s healthcare strategies and settings has helped in optimizing the effectiveness of the health care services and has reduced the period and the resources required for the program’s growth.
My community typically provides preventive and health enhancement strategies, mostly with the help and support of the local government and other interested third parties. I can confirm that healthcare in my community has improved as a result of the community health care programs.
