Conformity & Rebellion
Conformity and rebellion present an individual with a complicated situation where they have to forgo some activities and believes for other things. People actualize their awareness of something and either conform by following or rebel by moving away from something. The situations given defines their daily life. For instance, some things like war, unjust laws, and religion, on a consensus may conflict with what an individual knows. The individual is left in a dilemma to define the sanity of war, unjust law, and religious principles and whether to conform or rebel.
In my opinion, war is not sane because it puts social and economic factors and lives at stake. What happens during the war is contrary to a reasonable and rational way of life, as the definition of sanity. There are circumstances where an individual may be edged to obey unjust laws. These are laws that rob another person’s justice. In this case, I would justify the obedience if it involves a matter of two evils, but one is lesser than another. An individual should not be guided absolutely by religious principles. It is because some of the principles are against morality. One should think through the principle, and if it does not achieve good, then it should be forfeited.
In conclusion, people are faced with a situation in daily life that puts them in the dilemma of either confronting or rebelling. The decision that one chooses can either be based on the impact it would have on oneself or others. Such is the sanity of war, the unjust laws, and religious principles that surround individuals daily. I would recommend that individuals follow what best would work for them.
