Connection with the Adolescence
As a developmental expert, I choose to help individuals connect meaningfully with people at the adolescence stage of life. This stage is a transitional phase from childhood to adulthood, where a lot of physical, emotional, and psychological changes occur in one’s body. These changes arouse a lot of needs as its quite a confusing stage of life. The physical changes could lead to the need for self-awareness and to improve one’s self-esteem because the changes could be not what one expected. Emotional and psychological changes result in the need for guidance and counseling to help them cope up with the changes without negatively impacting their lives.
Activities majorly after-school programs such as community programs to sensitize the adolescences, religious adolescent groups and community-based activities will facilitate a meaningful connection on the needs of the adolescence. The community programs will major on the adolescents well being and healthy development by making them aware of the physical changes in their bodies. This awareness will help them accept the changes and improve their self-esteem. Religious adolescence groups and community-based activities such as tree planting will focus on offering guidance and counselling. The counselling sessions will be designed to meet the need of successful transition of the stage, guiding them emotionally and help them become happy and productive adults.
From experience, the religious adolescence groups nurtured me into a mature, responsible and productive teen. I learnt how to deal with emotional and psychological issues perfectly without letting them affect me in any negative way.
