Covid-19 and Decision Making Process
Since the breakout of covid-19, my decision-making process has taken a drastic change. For example, our public lives are both halted and restricted. Unfortunately, covid-19 not only affects our social lives but also affected the mental and emotional stabilities of many people negatively. The disease has disrupted my elements of a normal life. It has already changed the way we make decisions and communicate.
My state of mind and behavior has changed during the coronavirus crisis. For example, the disease has come with a significant social stigma. Before this pandemic, I used to interact with my friends freely in various places. Nonetheless, during the pandemic, I cannot just go out to party with my friends. The disease spreads through physical interactions. As a result, my mentality is cautioned about the behaviors that can make me contract the disease.
Notably, during this pandemic, my emotions are full of anxiety and some sort of depressive systems. I have seen how covid-19 patients are suffering from the disease. This aspect inflicts me with fear of contracting the disease. Also, long quarantine time and uncertainties related to the disease generates in me a sense of loneliness and loss of control. These elements affect my decision-making process.
Nonetheless, I can use parallel thinking during this crisis. For example, I can familiarize myself with optimism bias. This involves accepting the covid-19 phenomenon as a temporary human health challenge. Importantly, this aspect will help me in making unbiased and impartial decisions. Overall, parallel thinking is a viable step towards unleashing thinking and emotional intelligence during the covid-19 pandemic.
