Covid 19 and our mental health
Introduction
Covid 19 is a disease that has affected very many people both physical, mental, and even economic sectors. Most responses to covid 19 are fear, stress, and confusion (Brower, 2020). The world is being faced with an unknown disease and the fear of it is acceptable and understandable. The fear had been brought about by the changes the disease has brought in our life. Despite how covid19 has affected our lives, it is still important to check on our mental health.
Credibility
The pandemic is existent and the only way to deal with it is to prevent ourselves from contracting the disease. Everyone should be conversant with the measures to take to prevent them from getting the disease (Brower, 2020). Also one should be conversant with information about the disease, how it spreads, the symptoms, and the preventive measures. Coughing and fever are the symptoms of the disease. Also, it can be transmitted via surfaces and touch with a carrier of the virus.
Preview of points
The pandemic is likely to spread because of the ignorance and lack of acceptance of people. People cannot believe that the disease came and changed their lives. Also, many citizens are reluctant to change their behavior and do the preventive measures that are given by the World Health Organization (Capritto, 2020). All these factors affected the mental health of individuals especially the affected lot. They go through stigmatization because of contracting the disease. Also, the change in our day to day routines some people may find it hard and go through depression, especially if they lose a loved one to the disease. The measures produce a wide range of psychological effects for example confusion and even post-traumatic stress.
With the daily schedules changed, wearing off protective gear, isolation, and containment people’s lives are not the same. Quarantine and confinement separate and limits the movement of individuals who got exposed to the infectious disease to prevent the disease from spreading (Duhé, 2020). To get our mental health in check, we can talk to someone about the pandemic because half a problem shared is half solved. Also, people can join social platforms to reach out to their loved ones. Besides people can always be aware of the disease. Get enough correct knowledge from the world health organization to keep you going in the pandemic.
