Question One
The scorecard shows all four suppliers and their performance in the various fields. Here are their classifications. Supplier A falls into the certified category because this supplier’s final value is 84.5. This was obtained by his/her overall score in all the fields given to the weight. Supplier B has a final value of 87.1 and falls into the preferred category because he/she emphasizes the weight hence the importance. Supplier C has a final value of 82 and falls into the preferred category. This supplier has high numbers on the services with more weight value. Supplier D has a final value of 86.5 and falls into the preferred category; likewise, he/she is aware of the customer’s needs with regards to the weight.
Question Two
Going by the four suppliers on the scorecard, their performances are satisfactory. None of the suppliers needs replacing because all meet a standard final value. Suppliers B and D scored the highest in overall final values respectively; hence Rhonda would consider giving new businesses to them in that order. Supplier C had some worrying numbers as seen in the scorecard with two of his/her fields not making it past the conditional category hence the need for improvement. Although the final value does not reflect the deficiencies in some of the areas, Rhonda should consider placing supplier C in a development program.
Question Three
Suppliers qualifying for an award would mean that they were outstanding in specific performance measures. Supplier A would be eligible for awards in the quality and technology measures; supplier B would be considered for honors in quality, responsiveness and technology measures, supplier c would be awarded for being outstanding in the quality and responsiveness field while supplier D would be awarded for being exceptional in technology measures. This was arrived at by a 90 and above score on the specific performance measures of each.
