DAY 5 – Prayer & Fasting
SPIRITUAL WARFARE
When the Bible talks of rulers and principalities, these are not myths. Some principalities do not want us to pursue our divine purpose. The devil does not want you to become all that God wanted you to be. This makes the battle for destiny the greatest battle that you will ever fight.
Remember Moses’ encounter with the pharaoh. Pharaoh was ready to release the Israelites as long as they did not take their possession with them. He wanted the Israelites to go and leave behind their possession.
The devil is a bargainer, he wants you only to get part of the package, and not in its entirety. This is what the devil wants, but God wants us to receive the whole package of the victory that Jesus gave us through the cross. Moses knew well not to bargain with Pharaoh because God had given them all the victory.
They even got gold and treasures from the Egyptians.

Let us demand the full package of the salvation that Jesus paid through the cross. There is opposition, resistance, battle that we must fight for the heavens to open on our behalf.
*Matthew 3:16*
Once Jesus was baptized, the heavens opened, and the Spirit came down.
There is the world of the spirit, which is more powerful than the realm of the spirit. Many people have been walking under closed heavens, a covering of darkness (Isaiah 25:7).
The Kingdom of God is in the 3rd heavens, and before you get there, you get a lot of opposition from the enemy.
Ephesians 6:12 speaks of powers in the dark world and evil spirits in heavenly spirits. The covering of darkness must be destroyed for you to access the realm of the spirit. Moses sends twelve spies to spy on Canaan, and they talk of the giants and walls, causing a scare among the children of Israel.
Ten of the spies saw themselves as grasshoppers in the face of the giants, and God knows that grasshoppers die in the wilderness. The generation died in the wilderness, and God raised a new generation after them that He used to fight the Canaanites.
God is a Man of War, wanting to walk only with courageous people. There is a blessing with our name on it, and we have to fight to take it. The Kingdom of God, to this day, suffers violence, and only the violent will take it.
Jesus said that they would treat on serpents and scorpions, and they will not harm them. We will receive our inheritance only after we fight. May we receive the grace of God to possess every blessing that God would want us to possess.
These blessings are in the heavenlies, and we need to receive a breakthrough for us to possess them. When there is no breakthrough, you are being suffocated by the powers of darkness. The church is supposed to be a spiritual builder, building in the heavens (a spiritual builder prepares the ground).
We are the engineers in the Kingdom. Before building, according to Jeremiah 1:10, we have to uproot, destroy, overthrow, tear down. Abraham was wise, and when Jacob was fleeing from Esau, he found a place with open heaven at Bethel, an altar that had been built by Abraham.
We need altars that are connected to the heavens. There is a sheet that covers the nations, and this covering when destroyed, we can access the spirit realm. Jesus paid the price on the cross to restore the authority lost by Adam by disobeying God.
God wants us to take possession of our inheritance. Jesus has received the power and authority, and we have received this authority to destroy all the work of the devil. As a believer, you must understand that you have authority, to walk under an open heaven.
The heavens must open for us to receive a rich outpouring of the spirit, for the earth to receive an increase of its fruit. When the heavens close, like in Deuteronomy 28:23, you cannot receive the fruitfulness of the earth. You may have all you need to succeed, but you will continue to struggle and fail if your heavens are closed.
It is terrible when a Christian is not thriving and is suffering, and others outside the church are succeeding. When people who worship the devil prosper, it is because they agree with the principles of the kingdom of darkness. Still, it is good to base your foundations on the principles of the Kingdom of God because according to Proverbs 10:22, the blessing of God makes rich and add no sorrow.
When you decide to seek the Kingdom of God, Satan will continue to oppose you. Satan cannot allow you to possess what is yours without a fight. Only the violent can partake what is theirs. You must submit to God, through repentance and obedience to his word, and resist the devil, refusing for him to take what is yours without a fight.
For us to receive our blessing, we must receive the power of God, which comes as a result of an open heaven. Some of the keys that open the heavens include *knowing Jesus, be a friend of God, repent all sins, and forgive all who have offended you, discerning the voice of God, being humble, giving an acceptable offering and sacrifice, walk in love, speaking positive words, align in God’s will, obey the Word of God, respond to the cry of the poor*.
It is you who knows where you are coming from; you know the foundations in your life that hinder you from becoming the best that God created you to be. Be attentive to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Do not compare yourself to others; you may be a first-generation believer; others could be in their fourth generation of serving the true God.
Understand why there may be a lot of resistance in your life. Some demons can be saying that you must die because you are touching sth that no one else before you in your family has touched. You must fight, even for the generations coming after you, that they may experience the goodness of God.
Things from your past can follow you, you may be the first to touch some foundations, and you must be ready to fight. You don’t need to be afraid, take the Kingdom, refuse to be defeated, you have a great captain walking ahead of you.
2 Kings 2:19
The kingdom here was good, well-situated, but it had death in it, it was unproductive. Where is your city built? God knows where you are, and you can declare that Jesus paid the price at the cross. Take your blessing, break every barrier in the heavenly, may every limitation be broken.
In Acts 12, the apostles are calling on the Name of the Lord, and the angels went and rescued Peter. Receive the grace to open your gates

Refuse to be resisted by the powers of the kingdom of darkness.
God commands Elijah to a widow who was poor and would have died because she was preparing her last food supply.
REM: when you connect with a genuine man of God, God gives you a chance to live again.
