Dear Ms. Yoder,
While I understand that there is a policy that students must have credit for the prerequisite courses, I know a few people that have taken and skipped classes using CTY.
Dear Mrs. Shephard,
Ryan was homeschooled for all subjects except math, which he continued to take at MIHS. During this time, Ryan doubled up on math and took Honors Precalculus through CTY Online. Ryan flew through the course and finished with a 99%. We wish for Ryan to be placed in AP Calculus AB, the correct class for his level. Ryan is available to test out of Precalculus and would be more than happy to do so. . We do not need Ryan to receive credit — we just want him to be placed at his proper level (AP Calculus AB). However, I am told by the math department that he needs to receive credit for Honors Precalculus before he can take calculus. Is there any way that he could receive credit for H. Precalculus so he can take AP Calculus? If that isn’t possible, is there a way to test out of Precalculus? I have attached below the official transcript from CTY.
We followed Washington’s homeschooling laws regarding his classes.
