DECISION MAKING DURING CRISIS
When a crisis emerges in our societies, different people react in varying ways since every person has a unique way of processing information. The COVID-19 crisis has taken a toll on human life, leading to changes in human behavior and has brought high levels of uncertainty.
The Corona Virus crisis has affected my mental state and behavior. When the disease was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization, a feeling of fear, anxiety, confusion, and dread got into me. The pandemic caused fear since fear is a psychological response towards a threat. This has affected my decision making since I am afraid and uncertain of what the future holds.
During a time of crisis like this one, my emotions are a mix of uncertainty and fear of the unknown. Since I have never faced such a situation, I am frightened by how the disease is spreading fast and killing very many people. Making decisions in every aspect of human life has been affected due to the unprecedented trait of the crisis.
One of the best methods of thinking during the COVID-19 crisis is parallel thinking since it allows everyone to put forward their thoughts without attacking the opinions of others. During this crisis, I have applied the method since it provides a practical method of constructive thinking. The parallel thinking method provides a constructive alternative for arguments and discussions.
In conclusion, the crisis has affected my mental state, behavior, and emotions. These are the psychological responses of all human beings when they are under threat. The pandemic has affected my decision making due to fear and anxiety.
