Depression Case Study
The Case Study assignment aims to enable you to: • use common medical, health and health policy terminology accurately • identify and describe a clinical condition relating to a person accurately using ICF terminology correctly • describe the roles and activities of relevant members of an inter-professional team, using ICF terminology • identify and describe the risks associated in health science practice and specify strategies to minimize the risks • identify and describe characteristic features of professionalism in the day to day activities of health science practice • describe and apply a client-centred practice approach to health science practice. The Case Study assignment comprises 5 sections, as follows: Section 1: Description of the case (200words) • A description of a person’s health condition and how the condition, when combined with contextual factors, impacts on his/her level of functioning in terms of impairments, daily activity limitations and social participation restrictions Section 2: Description and justification of an intervention (400words) • A definition of your role as a health professional • A description of an intervention relevant to your role to promote this person’s level of functioning, using the ICF framework • An identification of any risks involved with the intervention and a description of two risk minimization strategies. Section 3: Identification of another health professional in the team and description of his/her role (300words) • Identification of another health professional in the inter-professional team and a description of his/her role, using ICF framework. Section 4: Specification of professionalism characteristics (350words) • A description of how you will demonstrate 3 characteristics of professionalism these when conducting the intervention. Section 5: Description and justification of person-centred strategies (250words) • A description of 2 strategies you will implement to ensure person-centred practice.
