District Minister
The journey that started five years ago has come to an end. A retrospective account of this journey puts fond memories on our minds and our encounter with you sparks joy in our hearts.
Today, we gather here as one family of the Abeka District bidding you not farewell but blessings, progress, and success in the journey that lies ahead.
Recounting your immeasurable contributions made towards the District can be akin to reading an unending scroll. You cannot recount and name the contributions, impact and changes you have made to this district. Papa Odonkor, your passion for the District is seen through your insatiable thirst to develop the over two-decade-old land of the District. From a school to residential apartments to what you finally believed in, the Event the center. Today the District can proudly boast of this center because of your relentless, persistent and ‘can do spirit’ that motivated the entire district to rally behind the standing committee into realizing this dream.
As the District Minister, your human relation was next to none. You ‘stooped’ and made yourself approachable, thus being a father to everyone in the district. District groups will forever love your dedication towards honoring every invitation. This will never be forgotten.
Your respect to time was admirable; you never late to any programme, meeting or church service. You gave off your best and dedicated your life to this special calling. Evangelism and desire to see the spread of the gospel was evident in how you assigned the district bus to assist the BSPG in church planting activities. Your sermon on the love for man was vital, you openly condemned the skewed and queer way of Christian prayers in our churches today. You taught us to love and embrace all. To this, we say God richly bless you.
We part ways today but not contact. We will always call on you, seek your prayers and counseling. The District worker will remember your consistent morning devotions, friendliness, and unifying spirit.
There is a time to plant and a time to reap, a time to embrace and a time to depart. Papa Odonkor, your name will always remain in the annals of this great district.
The Abeka District honours you with this citation, this day, the 6th of September, 2020, as you move to the Ablekuma District in the continuance of your ministry.
