Leaning a new language
2010
I learned a new language in secondary school, following active interactions with some of my friends from France, whom we were schooling together. I was able to read and write in Japanese within a few months.
First time to travel away from home

My family and I traveled to Africa for my holiday vacation.
Working with a person of a different culture
2017
It was my first time to get employed and worked within an organization with a diversified workforce.
Person avoiding me as a result of my race or culture
2008
I was a student by then when I noticed students from other races, especially Africans avoiding me. They were not happy whenever I joined their discussions.
When I observed an incident that I termed as biased or prejudice
2017
I witnessed workplace discrimination, where blacks were overworked and paid little. In my case, I although new at the workplace and with no experience, I earned more than most of the blacks who had been working in the same firm for years.
My experiences have impacted how I personally diversity positively. I have come to learn that people are naturally differently, having been uniquely created by God. Diversity should not be used as a basis for discriminating people, but for uniting them to work towards a common good. When I have despised my African classmates, I felt hated. Such an event made me sympathize with black employees at my workplace. People should not suffer simply because they are different from each. The experiences I had are common within my age, social class, and where I live. I have heard some of my friends discussing similar issues, meaning that my experiences were not exceptional.
I have got several stereotypes about blacks. The stereotypes are mainly negative and have been developed from the community I live in, as well as my interactions with them. I have viewed the blacks as illiterate, poor, aggressive, and individuals who want to be helped throughout. However, my experiences proved me wrong. The experiences I had have destroyed the stereotypes, as I observed some blacks perform well in classes. At the workplace, I realized that they are friendly and hardworking.
