In an industry that is ever competitive, companies offering foodservice deliveries have to devise ways of staying afloat, all the while staying ahead of their competitors. Domino’s pizza is one example of a food service company that has taken the pizza market by storm through its uniqueness of offering, a business strategy that it employs. The Pizza Company is fast rising through its ability to deliver just the right product to the customer, through innovative ordering techniques, investing in quick service delivery trucks that have heating ovens, and keeping the prices lower than that of their competitors. A large bakery that is seeking to venture into the frozen food industry will be seeking to enter a market that is already highly populated. In-order to ensure not only successful entry but also tremendous growth, the bakery has to find a unique feature valued by the customer. Today’s world is growing more health-conscious by the day. Launching an exclusive line of fortified frozen products that meet most if not all vitamins and minerals nutritional needs would be a great way to capture customers’ desire to indulge. Both flavor and textured variegates are as equally important to the customer as the calorie count. The use of fresh ingredients every time, as well as incorporating innovative technology that helps in locking in the original flavor, is a strategy that will enhance competitive advantage. (D. Berry,2007). The use of innovative technology is likely to bring production costs down, thus reducing the overall pricing of frozen desserts. Investing in captivating advertisements that showcase the strengths of the products is the best way to keep customers in the know.
Of utmost importance to the customer is the delivery of the product, the ease at which they can access the products as well as the state in which the products reach the customer. Since desserts are all about indulgence, the bakery can opt to make the customer feel special, through personalizing the delivery service.
