According to the author of women have to be concerned as well as opposed to the issue of slavery because they are the most affected. Women are believed to suffer the most when a common calamity occurs such as slavery. Therefore, women have to raise their voices so that they can assist in their removals. The second reason that the author uses to urge women to be concerned and opposed to the issue of slavery is that they are weak and feeble and this means that they can be soft targets for slavery. Also, women should be concerned and opposed to the institution of slavery because the harm that is caused as a result of slavery is usually in depth and the misery that is experienced in usually bitter.
A true woman has certain attributes that can be used to encourage them to engage with the political rather than domestic concerns. One such attribute is that women should be outspoken. When women become outspoken, they will learn to air their issues thereby ending with the political concerns such as slavery. The second attribute of a true woman the good gift of intellect. According to the author, women who have the good gift of intellect can use it identify what is good for her and other women. Therefore, a woman has to use such gifts to others be able to engage with the political concerns that will ensure they engage in with the political concern. The other attribute of women is the feeling of proud consciousness which means that women are aware of themselves and the surrounding situations. Hence they will take advantage and start engaging with political matters. The next attribute of a true woman is to show affection. The author says that women should show sympathy to the oppressed as well as the sorrowing slaves.
The writer suggests that females can take part in certain activities which may be used to change the commonly held notion about feminine duty. One such activity is to inform herself through various medium. Information is a powerful tool, and it can be used to bring change in various places. According to the author, wisdom has always been the best weapon when a person gets ridiculed. Women should inform themselves to the best of their ability. In this case, the woman should understand well about the issue of slavery within the country. Women will the use the information that they have gained to know how they can fight slavery. The second activity that the author suggests is to take part in public debates. Public debates are the best forum that can be used to air public opinion. Public opinion can influence public action. When women engage in public action, they will reduce the notions that are associated with the feminine duty will be separated. The other activity that the author urges the women to do it to influence one another. Influencing other women will help them to understand the issue of slavery and that they need to get rid of it because they are the most affected ones. The next issue that the author urges women to do is to unite. Unity plays a significant role to solve a problem. Therefore, when women are united in fighting slavery, there is a high chance that they will get rid of it.
