Every individual has a moment of forgetfulness especially when things get busy. When it can be completely normal, having a poor memory can be frustrating. Nevertheless, genetics can be a major player in memory loss especially when an individual has been exposed to serious conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease.  However, research has shown that there are various ways that can have a positive impact on memory. A strong memory depends on a variety of things such as the vitality of the brain. Various factors might affect brains incredible ability to remember and enhance the memory. Therefore, the major factors that might assist in improving memory include meditation, exercise and more sleep.

To begin with, the working memory of the brain is like a notepad where new information is temporary held. When an individual learns new information, the brain hangs on to the information until it is no longer needed. If the information is needed, the brain commits it to a longer-term memory where it is strengthened and can be recalled later. However, if an individual is not using their memory to the maximum capacity, meditation can strengthen it. Meditation can make individual recall information that had been lost.  It has the power to make a person concentrate, a factor that improves memory when repeated often for a long time. When meditating, the brain might stop to process information as it normally does. This gives it space to free unwanted information and concentrated on the most important information. Thus, it is advisable for everyone to occasionally take a break and  empty their mind so that they can feel less stressed.

Besides, exercise has shown the ability to assist individuals in improving their memory. In most cases, fitness in older people slows the decline of memory and relieves stress. However, for exercise to work efficiently, it has to be done regularly. Through regularly exercises, individual not only improve their memory but also their health. A good health can assist in improving the spatial memory. Therefore, although exercise might not be necessarily a way to improve all types of memory, it can assist in improving spatial memory. Also, a part from memory, exercise has numerous benefits such as the improvement of cognitive ability. Thus, for people who want to be mentally sharp, taking a walk could be the answer.

Finally, sleep can prove to be another crucial factor that improves memory. During sleep, most of the memory consolidation process occurs. This makes sense that, without enough sleep; it might be hard for an individual to remember. It does not necessarily mean that an individual should sleep for the entire day, as even a short nap can improve memory. Therefore, people should embrace enough sleeping as it is a critical part of memory creation.

In conclusion, it is evident that there are a major factor that assists in improving memory such meditation, exercise and more sleep. Meditation can make individuals recall information that had been lost. Furthermore, exercise has shown the ability to assist individuals in improving their memory. Finally, embracing the act of enough sleep has proved to increase memory among individuals.
