Social media are considered to be information-based technologies and tools that are mainly used to ensure that information is shared, facilitating communication with external and internal audiences. Some of the well-known examples of social media platforms may involve twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook, among others. Most of the organizations are deemed to make maximum use of social media in different ways. The departments can maintain ongoing conversations or hold brainstorming sessions that involve questions with answers on a, particularly given blog. This makes the deliverance of the information within the Green Branch Coffee to be so fast and quick (Cao, 2019). Coming up with collaborative technology is considered to be valuable for the workplace due to their effectiveness in ensuring that teamwork and understanding are both improved hence developing lateral communications and building of the relationships within the Green Branch coffee organization.

In the creation of the policy, the involved parties must consider the company’s confidentiality and privacy. The employees are not supposed to share or disclose the proprietary information or the confidentiality of a given organization or even identify any given information of an employee. Sharing of such information unintentionally could harm the company, and thus legal action can be taken against an employee or the company generally (Cao, 2019). The social media policy is understood to offer some guidance on the use of social media by the employee who is broadly understood for the system to ensure that it includes micro blogs, blogs, wikis, electronic newsletters, message boards, social networking sites among others.

Various principles are supposed to be followed, especially when it comes to using social media on behalf of the company and using social media when referencing the company. Employees are supposed to understand and adhere to the code of conduct, employee handbook, and other company policies, especially when using social media in referencing the Green Branch Coffee organization. Employees are supposed to be aware of the effects that their actions may have on mostly on their image, together with the image of the company. Employees should also be aware that the organization or the company may be able to observe the information and the content that is said to have been made available by most of the employees via social media (Sivarajah, 2020). Employees are not supposed to post, publish, or even release any information that is usually related to the confidentiality of the organization or the company in general.

Therefore, social media is believed to provide some excellent opportunity to leverage diverse and deep expertise, especially to most organizations. Instead of turning to the third-party providers or the outside consultants, companies are considered to harness expertise with tools that include wikis, micro blogging, expert communities, or directories. Through the policy, most of the internal social media or discussion boards give space to most employees to ensure that they collaborate and exchange experiences and ideas. Such tools are also believed to have been utilized for the benefits enrollment of self-service, leading to the matching of the current employees in ensuring that more positions are opened (Sivarajah, 2020). However, some of the legal issues that are supposed to be looked at by most of the employees are the content of the policy, problems that are usually associated with the use of social media among the employees, and the pitfalls of social media.
