Environmental Sustainability
Environmental sustainability is an important topic that needs to be covered to ensure that there is awareness among the different communities in the world. Environmental sustainability is essential to our daily lives as it brings around healthy communities (Murch, 1971). Tackling environmental sustainability brings about clean air, resulting in healthier communities. There is the proper utilization of natural resources associated with a nontoxic environment, such as water, space, and energy.
The theme of promoting environmental sustainability is essential since by tackling it, we improve the quality of the surrounding environment, which intricately affects public health. A while ago, I read journal articles on the situation when I came across an interesting topic concerning environmental pollution and the harm it has caused to marine life. Fish, sea turtles, seabirds, and other marine mammals are suffocating, facing starvation, and drowning in the very environment they live in due to plastic pollution on the beaches (Murch, 1971). The infection affects the temperatures of the sand, which acts as a breeding ground for these mammals.
Factors contributing to environmental pollution
- Air pollution as a result of fossil fuel burning and the use of fertilizers.
- Water pollution through the disposal of waste products in waterways.
- Land and soil pollution as a result of the misuse of land resources.
- Noise and light pollution as a result of human activities.
