Essay
Subject is: If you were awarded an expense-paid trip to any one place in the world, where would you go?
Today my longtime dream has come true after winning a contest with an award of a paid expense trip to a place of my choice. Since my childhood, I wanted to visit London the capital of England. Scenic countryside, well-organised sky scraping cities and pollution free environment, these are the first things that come to our minds when we think of a place we want to visit. Most of the people fail to give this dreamland a name but I know where all the three things can be found and that’s England. There are many reasons for my choice of visiting London. It’s pleasant weather throughout the year, clean and beautiful cities. England has everything one could hope for. Another reason for the choice is if we have to bear the cost of the trip, England is more costly for tour compared to other countries. Also, British people are very kind, always eager to help and have fun with others. I have met a few Britishers and found their company enjoyable.
My trip will consist of mainly three places that are, Liverpool for its sea, East Yorkshire for scenic countryside views, and London to see it’s developed infrastructure. I want to visit Liverpool as it is a maritime city in the North West England, where the river Mersey meets the Irish sea. Also, it is the hometown of Beatles the world famous band. The main attraction there which I want to visit is the “Three Graces”. However, I want to visit Yorkshire for its interesting history. One can always cherish the Romans and Vikings heritage throughout the city. It also has castles and medieval abbeys. In London, I wish to visit the imposing house of parliament, the iconic “Big Ben” clock tower and the Thames River. The last but not the least I want to visit England to learn about its culture and its rich history dating back to the Romans and the Vikings. These are the reasons for choosing England as the place I want to visit on tour.
