The advancement of technology has changed the scenario of today’s communication structure. People are now some days relying on technologies to communicate with rest of the world (Shapiro and Margolin 2014). In their busy schedule, they hardly get enough time to visit the places of their near and dear ones. The arrival of social networking websites has provided a wide opportunity to them to connect with their close ones by just one click. Social networking sites have become an integral part of human life recently, especially for the young generation of the society. They cannot imagine their life without social networking sites. There are some famous social networking websites that already are leading the world in terms of popularity, such as- Face book, Instagram, twitter (Fox and Rooney 2015). A new social networking website is being developed which will open a new direction for the youth of the society. This site will be used by the youth who are under 18. By accommodating all the modern and scientific techniques the site is being designed by the developer. It has some key features, they are as follows:
By using this site, the users will be able to connect with their friends and relatives from various corners of the world.
This site will entertain all their users by various mode of entertainment. The users will be able to watch numerous videos by following the various page, they will be able to share these posts with their friends. They can share pictures as well. At the same time, they can avail all the recent news and updates of the world and connect with their favorite celebrity and watch their pictures and like them as well.
There will be chatting option, which will help them to chat with their friends.
There will be some posts and blogs which will help them for their studies as well.
Moreover, the users will be able to witness their friends from a different corner of the world by using this site.
The developer of this site has paid special attention to the privacy of its users. No users will be able to share any pictures or videos of other users without their permission. This feature has distinguished it from many other sites of recent time.
This site is mainly designed, so youth can share their views by using this website.
Stakeholders:
The stakeholders are the people who directly or indirectly gets affected by the steps taken in an organization. The stakeholders associated with the website will include the following: –
Primary Stakeholders
Technology Producers:
Technology producers are those who invent and produce the technology (Ellison et al. 2014). They play the crucial role in the development of the technology. In this scenario, the technology producer is responsible to produce the technique of connecting people.
Technology Consumers:
Technology consumers will be purchasing this technology and use it for the benefit of their business (Karpinski et al. 2013). Technology consumers will use the idea of technology producer for fulfill the requirement of the consumers.
Product Producers:
Technology consumers will appoint product producer to establish a new and acceptable product by using this technology. They will use this strategy in an efficient manner to introduce the world with a unique product that will be helpful to meet their expectation level.
Product Consumers:
Product consumers will be greatly affected by the development with this new technology based product. They will consume the final product and they are the final target market of the product. The product is mainly designed as per the requirement of the consumers (Jackson and Wang 2013).
Secondary Stakeholders
Resource Providers:
Resource providers are those who provide all the required resources to the product and technology developer and support the development of the technology and product in all manners, such as- investors, government and other raw material suppliers.
Intellectual Property Issues:
Intellectual property issues are an integral part of modern business organizations. This plays major role in distinguishing a business organization from other competitors or similar brands (Begel, Bosch and Storey 2013). There are some aspects of intellectual property issue that need to be discussed to provide vivid idea about the intellectual property issues that can be obtain by this social networking sites, such as-
Patent:
Two types of patent that can be applied for the social networking sites are such as- the design and structure of the site and inventions of the technologist that is not common for all the social networking sites. The design and the structure of the pages of the newly built social networking site can be protected by the patent rule. By following such strategy, no other company will be able to copy the patent style of the webpage. The technologist will be including some signature techniques in the site which also not common for all the social networking websites. The organization needs to protect this innovative invention as well (Neira, Corey and Barber 2014).
Trademark:
The logo and the trademark of the site need to be protected from any kind of unethical activity. Trademark will protect the identity of the site and not allow any other similar brands to copy this logo or trademark. Trademark is highly beneficial for the site to maintain goodwill and healthy relation with the user. It will help the users to find the actual site by its trademark. Moreover, it will protect consumers from any kind of cybercrime. Although, there are other types of trademarks like product design, product packaging, in this scenario, logo its color will work as trademark for the social networking sites. It will help the leaders of the site to protect their site from any kind of unethical practice (Lin, Fan and Chau 2014).
Opportunity:
Many opportunities are associated with the technology that can be availed by the stakeholders associated with the project. There are two key opportunities that will be brought by this technology. They are as follows:
Huge Profit:
By developing this technology of social networking site, the technology consumer can easily earn huge profit. Emergence of modern technology has offered wide opportunity to the business organizations to increase their profit margin by drawing the attention of large number of users from various section of the society. As the young generation is highly attracted towards social networking and it has a huge impact on their life and behavior, it can be stated that by building up such type social networking website, the organization can earn huge amount revenue per year (Fox and Moreland 2015). It will establish a bright future for the organization.
Fame:
As stated in the earlier section of the article there are many social networking websites that already exist in the market and have secured the leading position. Thus, the popularity of the social networking websites can be assumed by analyzing their success graph. Hence, effective promotion of the site and efficiency level of the site will grab the attention of large number of social networking site users. The efficient performance of the organization will lead them to achieve immense name and fame among the youth of the society. The unique features of the site, such as- video chat, lucrative web design, connecting capacity with the whole world will soon lead the site to become one of the famous places to hang out for the young generation of the society. This will bring immense respect from the youth of this generation. The developer of this site has protected the privacy of the users. Thus, this will help them to earn the trust of the users (Braun 2013).
Risks:
Competitive Environment:
The technology will face several challenges in the market due to high competitive nature of the market. There are many competitors already exist in the market that will challenge the existence of the site, such as- Face Book, Instagram, Twitter and many blogs as well (Salehan and Negahban 2013). This will work as real threat for the organization. The site needs to perform in an efficient and effective manner so it can battle against these giant rivals and match the expectation level of the users. The existing competitors have already set high expectation level among the consumers by their innovative strategies. In order to compete with them, the developer and technology consumer needs to perform in a unique manner that will distinguish the site from other sites (Hajli 2014).
Social Barriers:
As the site is designed for the users of under the age of eighteen, the developers may face social barriers and may become the target of many pressure groups. The parents of those kids will not be happy with the use of the site by their kids (Serrat 2017). Thus, it will stimulate social barriers and social obstacles for the site and its developer. Moreover, as the users will be able to watch many videos and the posts, the parents and other social groups may find it as obstacle for the normal mental and physical growth of the users. They can claim that it is harmful for the users and their brain. Thus, this fact needs to be considered while designing the strategy and website (Hollebeek, Glynn and Brodie 2014).
Conclusion:
As per the previous discussion, it can be concluded that the development of the social networking sites for helping the users who belong to the young generation of the society to raise their voice about any kind of social issues is an innovative and remarkable initiative taken by the developer. This will bring many benefits for the developer and technology consumers, such as- high profit margin and immense fame and respect. However, there are some issues as well that can have faced by the management, such as- they can face social obstacles as well as they will surely experience high competition in the market due to the existence of many giant social networking websites. Thus, to overcome these obstacles and protect the site from any kind of copyright issue and cybercrime, the developer must use trademark and patent rule. It will ensure a bright future for the website.
