Evaluate the Source
The research question is Reduction of red meat consumption is the solution to Food Security. Consumption of red meat has a lot of effects both economically and environmentally. Reduction on the usage of the beef not only helps food Security globally but changes the climate. Economically the Nation goes an extra millage in establishing companies that will process the meat. Nevertheless, the major challenge comes in the emission from the factories. The emission damage the health of the citizens. Environmentally, the eating of red meat affects the perspective of; deforestation of Rainforest. Rainforest acts as an observer of harmful carbon dioxide, which helps in maintaining the balance in the atmosphere. Therefore, destroying the Rainforest will increase in the changing of the climate (Happer & Wellesley, 2019). The following piece tends to evaluate the Source of the research topic.
Introduction
The Source of the research conducted was Flickr. Where the Author was Sheffoodjustice and the title of their study was Reduced Meat Consumption:” the solution to food security and climate change.” Publishing of the article was on 12/07/2017 and sponsoring of the article was not done. In the article, the author illustrates how the meat industry is one of the significant factors that affect climate change; through levels of greenhouses gas emissions. Flickr is online photo management where users use this platform to upload the images, and the Source manages the photos to the electronic devices the users will want.
Body
The credibility of the sources refers to the trustworthiness and high quality of the information provided. Flickr, as a source in the research, did not fully attain the level of credibility; this is because; the platform manages images online. The information provided on the consumption of meat to solve food security by the Source cannot be trusted. The author does not fully illustrate the author’s information. Miss-communication of the author’s information usually results in users not fully embracing the information provided. Accounting for the credibility of the Source is missing. The Source was useful to the research conducted. The purpose of the Source was to illustrate how the less consumption of meat can provide food security to the Nation. The author proved the thesis through the provision of examples that showed how the meat industry leads to food insecurity. With the examples, assisted the Source in defending their topic. The Source had limited value to my project, but despite the limitation, the research topic well defended, the sources provided useful arguments. The instances the author illustrate will help in proving that less consumption of red meat globally will help maintain food security. Where people will be able to access and afford nutritious food. (Charles & Silva, 2020)
Conclusion
Evaluating a source is very important when gathering information on the research topic. For the Source to come handy in your project, it has to be credible of the information it is providing and also the information need to be useful. i.e. it needs to help the researcher attain their ultimate goal of proving their thesis.
The questions that helped in accessing the level of credibility and usefulness of the Source was; is the information provided accountable? And also it will help in proving the thesis assigned? Also, the evaluation of a source is helpful. It assists the researcher in knowing which is the appropriate Source to use when arguing your point out. With that identified, the research process becomes easy.
