Evaluation of neighborhoods on the elderly
Social amenities in a community indicate the quality of life that residents in a specific geographical region live and predicts residential satisfaction. Living near these social amenities enables residents in the community to be more satisfied with their community. Cities that have less access to social facilities are likely to feel socially isolated. Residents must get involved in communities to improve social lives, stay up to date on matters regarding the outside world. A community needs to ensure that it has all the necessary social amenities as they enable the residents to create a sense of community, keep in shape, especially mentally and, make the home feel more valuable.
Every community should have specific social amenities regardless of its location. Schools and playgrounds for kids, shopping destinations, health care facilities, recreational facilities, entertainment venues, and transportation facilities should all be available in the community for the residents to feel contented. The residents should work together to build the community in all aspects. All social amenities have a purpose, and with support from residents in the city, there is a very high likelihood that the community will develop and thrive rapidly as well as become the ideal place for quality living.
The old neighborhood essentially provides social support and continuity for better health and social amenities (Leong & Malone-Lee, 2020). The growth of the elderly in communities increases, consequently majorly due to ethical and better neighborhoods to live. Primarily, communities with vast social amenities available to everyone with ease ensures growth to adulthood and, eventually, the elderly. Growth to numbers of older people subsequently bring about implications hence the need for high reliance on social amenities.
The availability of pharmacy ensures health problems presented by the elderly to acquire better care and treatment. Prescriptions are mainly given to the elderly due to their long term beneficially tend to be purchased at a local pharmacy if they run out. Proximity is essential for their needed exercise to and from the pharmacy to acquire their medication. Health adversary is key to every human being, and so is to the elderly because of their excellent conditions in health complications.
For a better healthy body, nutritionists suggest natural foods rich in all the necessary nutrients required to get the body in shape to fight minor and also significant health problems. In today’s living, diseases crop up every day, others with a cure, while one cannot miss health conditions with no necessary treatment but solutions for an increased lifespan. Grocery stores provide daily fresh vegetables and fruits; thus, a variety to pick from depending on choice. The elderly nutrition value increases due to the body age and their health generally.
Banks provide people with a variety of needs concerning money and their welfare at large but majorly the option to have safety for their money. Safety is paramount for anyone, mainly since money does come easy. Once the dough is kept safe, retrieving is quite easy for personal use. In many countries, the government provides retirement funds; thus, this is the best way to get money quickly. Banks ensure storage and retrieval of cash; the elderly can purchase their medications or rather prescriptions from their nearest pharmacy, and they do not have to miss their medicines due to difficulty in acquiring their money.
Age is just but a number, but as period goes by, so does the ability to see clearly. Eyesight problems virtually an issue with most older adults and need to get checked quite often to provide clarity in their day to day activities, so does the whole body. Physicians’ availability in the neighborhood is highly crucial to the sick with chronic diseases, but their help becomes beneficial to the elderly in the community. Physicians reduce pain through medication and provide betterment of health and longevity of life.
In today’s world, anything expected does not come as a shock. Unavailability of employment in neighborhoods bring s about gangs in communities, thus unsafe. People succumb to injuries caused by groups seeking property unlawfully. Hospitals’ and doctors’ main aim in a society considering no thefts is to ensure the well being of the health of every individual. Due to technology, hospital equipment should get equipped with the latest technology to provide quick betterment of health (Bhatt, Dey & Ashour, 2017). The elderly need easy access to hospitals, especially the underlying conditions that require urgent treatment.
Speech being a gift from God, communication provides people with the ability to speak their views freely and eloquently to be heard. The elderly have many complications in speech because as one gets old, the more their health condition deteriorates. For one to make an effective speech, their teeth must be available, but our older adults lose their teeth as old age comes by slowly. Dentists create compelling ways for the lack of teeth artificially to assist them in making their speech. Essential workers to the elderly like dentists create a safe space for the elderly to feel still wanted by the community.
As age creeps in, and one feels time in the world is slowly coming to an end, they seek forgiveness in churches or places of worship. Every neighborhood with locations of prayer gives the community hope now and forever and ever in the past. Worshipping the creator comforts many people; thus, in this century, people have different views concerning churches, but on the brighter side, freedom of speech and the entitlement of opinions does not hinder anyone—the church’s needs, or rather, the importance of bringing lives or souls to Christ.
Taxi services have always been necessary for easy access to place efficiently, quick, and affordable. Reliance on public transport to the elderly would cause inconveniences to them, for example, lateness to appointments from doctors, risk of losing property due to robbery, and improper conduct to specific individuals in the community. Many elderlies are like infants, and they require care and love to live peacefully for better health hence the need for taxis competency to help them out.
Services are rendered relevant in life to remain sane and perform different activities due to them. Essential services for senior people in the society (Senior Activity Centre) come a long way to ensure the elderly enjoy their old age years to the best of their ability with assistance. In previous years such services were unavailable, but today normalization of such centers in our communities enables everyone to live their lives to the fullest. Clarity or, instead, the importance of getting old with no pressure to have no one to take care of the elderly tends to remain the past.
Communities’ ability to provide parks for children to get outside and enjoy their youth in a safe environment also applies to safe sidewalks for people to walk after a day’s work. Confinement in houses is never beneficial to the elderly due to their inability to go about their business-like ordinary people. The availability of sidewalks creates a different platform for the elderly to stretch their legs and see the neighborhood away from rushing vehicles and crossing paths with playing children.
“A dog is a man’s best companion,” refers to tamed animals due to affection provided to humans (Blazina & Kogan, 2016). Animals such as cats and dogs are mainly humans’ best friends and end up being part of the family. Like any other person, animals require food, shelter, and clothing; thus, they need provision. The elderly need things to keep them going in this life; from taking care of a pet to walking a pet down the community on the designated sidewalks to feeding them is quite beneficial to them and the whole community at large.
In every household, security availability tends to be of paramount importance. Community with security is deemed safe for both the children and the elderly and the whole neighborhood at large. The protection ensures comfort to an older adult to remain at peace with the surroundings and avoid scare due to heart conditions related to health at an early age (Park, Lee & Mason, 2012).
