Executive program practical connection assignment
As one of the professionals in the IT industry, the knowledge in cloud computing will come in handy in the accomplishment of the various duties assigned to me. Some of the areas that were covered in the course that will be helpful in my future professional undertakings are file storage, data backup, disaster recovery, increased collaboration, as well as big data analysis (Antonopoulos, & Gillam, 2010). This paper aims to provide a clear connection between cloud computing and how such will be useful in my career in the IT industry.
One of the practical applications of cloud computing to my profession is that it will help in disaster recovery. I will be able to carry out recovery in the face of a disaster with ease as cloud computing provides such competence. This is because the use of cloud computing in my organization will help in the hosting of data, thus protecting such input in case of an eventuality. Given this case, there will be overall business well-being as such an entity may not risk closure as a result of the loss of data.
File storage is the other knowledge area that will be instrumental to me as a professional in IT. The knowledge in cloud computing is known to be useful in facilitating the ease of storage, retrieval along with access of a firm’s files in a single database (Faynberg, Lu, & Skuler, 2016). These files are usually retrieved from any one of the web-enabled interfaces. With cloud computing knowledge, I will be better placed to access data from remotely anywhere as long as such is stored in the database. Therefore, the knowledge in cloud computing will enhance efficiency in my service delivery as an IT expert as I will be able to access any kind of data and information that I may require from virtually anywhere.
Last but not least, the knowledge in cloud computing will be useful to me in advising the management, as such will help in the testing of new projects. Many firms have been found to use their private cloud in testing their programs or processes. In this tune, I will be able to set up a test program on the cloud, add some data sets, and then run the data to find any issues. This will help in increasing the reliability of the programs and processes in place.
In conclusion, the knowledge in cloud computing will serve a great deal in my future endeavor as a professional in the IT industry. For instance, I will be able to access data stored in the database from remotely everywhere. Apart from that, I will also be able to undertake data recovery, and this is based on the capability provided by the cloud services of hosting data. Apart from that, I will also be able to use the technical expertise acquired in cloud computing to run some tests on projects before engaging in them, and this will be a useful input in advising the management.
