Exercise 1
In some real-world aspects, a quantitative method to research may not be appropriate, especially when a clear explanation of a certain phenomenon is required. This kind of analysis, therefore, calls for a qualitative approach to research. I agree with the colleague statement in the post that qualitative research gains success in in-depth exploration and explanation of a given phenomenon through its open-ended strategy to data collection (Creswell & Creswell, 2018). The previous work of literature used is insightful to the colleague to be able to develop a conceptual framework and scope of the research for qualitative analysis of the agile method of software development. While synthesizing two different studies, their results can be different due to the variances in variables chosen in each of the research. When choosing a conceptual framework, a common characteristic is that the goal it has achieved should be correlated with what you are aiming for.

Qualitative research is regarded to have greater efficacy in the analysis of experiences, interactions, behaviours, attitudes, and beliefs among people. The application of artificial intelligence in criminal justice is an aspect that can be researched using qualitative research (Ben-Ari et al. 2017). Regarding the article chosen by the colleagues, they are detailed on the subject of the study, which will help the colleague in research. For instance, the articles will be resourceful in selecting a conceptual framework and choosing instruments for the study. The strategy to build a conceptual framework is the same as other colleagues’ postings described by the pattern in the data. Since artificial intelligence uses mathematics in solving problems, a mixture of qualitative and quantitative would yield a better result. A survey for quantitative variables and open-ended interviews would facilitate the success of the research.

Cybersecurity is a critical issue in every business, institution, and government as a compromise of data, and information can result in great loss or risks. I agree with the colleague that despite the development of skill sets and competencies by telecommunication engineers, the security vulnerability of IP-based circuits proves that some engineers are not adequately prepared for them. Qualitative research on this problem can be used to find why some of them are not equipped for such problems. The articles synthesized are directly addressing the issues which will guide the colleague in research. For qualitative research, it is critical to identify the participants by purpose, which means they understand the situation in hand. Review of literature and field observation is a critical method for qualitative data collection (Creswell & Creswell, 2018).
