Explorers Mindset
An explorer is someone who loves adventure, inspiration, and exploration of discoveries and hence such an individual needs a specific mindset to achieve this quantum. In this regard, the explorer mindset is relevant in other spheres of social life, business, or even healthcare as it becomes pronounced in the rapidly changing and volatile environments. The mindset is significant in the formation of strategies for diversification, startups, or the sweeping change in the direction of a business or a project. For instance, the formulation of a strategy for a company’s human resource management or the introduction of a new product as a result of innovation is an adventure in itself and the spirit of exploration of the unknown. Further, an explorer’s mindset maps out a journey of exploration in a bid to change the unknown into something satisfying and an addition to what is already known. These explorations include new potentials, new territories, and more knowledge for purposes of inspiration. Therefore, an explorer mindset seeks to generate new knowledge, make connections, capture value, and push boundaries in creating a narrative that brings about change.
In the business world, many entrepreneurs have demonstrated an explores mindset and identified new secretes of success in leadership in this digital age. One of such individuals is Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon Corporation. Today, Bezos is an excellent illustration of a modern-day explorer whose efforts have led to the exponential growth of Amazon. Some of the innovations at the company include the echo devices as well as the Kindles. An individual with an explorer mindset shows leadership and pushes there limits in their bid to achieve their targets (Yamamoto 79). Jeff Bezos has demonstrated leadership through his personal involvement Ii the company activities such as the space-faring blue origin which qualifies him as expeditious, a character of an explorers mind. Besides, he has motivated people around him to believe and join him in the adventurers’ journey with a consistent message of delegation, constant questioning, and often experiment. Unlike old-time explorers such as Christopher Columbus, Jeff Bezos mindset does not seek to know what he thinks is out there, but to pursue variance enlargements.
My own expedition story through the current coronavirus crisis is the gap that exists between the available technology and the ability of people to utilize the technology to create a better world. This gap exists between the interconnected, networked world and the ultimate focus for nationalism and protectionism. In the current coronavirus pandemic, countries seen to focus on protection and patriotism as the first line of defence against the sudden and unplanned crisis. An explorer mindset connects with leadership and how the leaders try to create value. Additionally, the mindsets of explorer put to the test during this time as they try to find a cure for the highly infectious virus that has affected almost all of the countries globally. At the citizen level, people are exploring different ways of going about their activities without compromising their health and risking acquiring the virus through the taking of preventive measures. Besides, innovations in making of masks and other protective gears are at the peak as people fight the pandemic. Therefore, from the coronavirus crisis, my personal experience has seen an explorer as an innovator, a creator of opportunities, and an adventure seeker.
