Fast-changing and evolving trend in the technology sector
Discussion Question
The first important thing that I learned from the course pertains to the fast-changing and evolving trend in the technology sector. Based on the innovations that are made each day, the technology sector realizes changes and transformations at a very fast rate (Dornberger, 2018). The second best thing I have learned pertains to the assessment of future trends in technology. I have learned that one can use the past to dictate what is likely to happen in future. What surprised me was the rate of technology growth. It is fast to the extent that one can design a product, and before releasing it to the market, another person makes an innovation that is a more advanced product.
Digitization of organizational processes and cloud computing are the two trends that are present in business information systems, and they will have an impact on the business model. In the next five years, there might be no manual operations in many organizations. The use of paper files will be a thing of the past (Gudanowska, 2017). Many organizations will be using cloud computing, and this is due to the fact that it is a technology that is proving to be helpful. Due to the fact that thing will change to digital, there will be a dire need to embrace a business model that complements the digitalization of business models.
Technology has helped many
to enhance communication. A positive social change is fostered when there is effective communication. For example, the use of an organizational network to communicate to employees promotes continuous and effective communication. In the case of organizations that embrace social media, their employees get to communicate and interact with the rest (Gudanowska, 2017). As a result, they socially bond, thus promoting teamwork during organizational operations.
