First Person:
This post contained answers that were very brief to each of the questions asked since the writer most likely wanted to avoid monotony. The answers are however not very precise as they leave the reader wanting to know more. In the instance of giving various examples this was not the case and therefore the instructions were followed but not to the latter. On the plus side, the few examples posted were relevant to the book “Only 13.” The posting shows how life in the Northern territories of Thailand is and how it has contributed to the rise of the sex tourism industry. The life and experiences of the protagonist (Lon) in the story are clearly stated thus giving the reader a rough picture of Lon’s struggles. The aspect of education as a social perspective has been addressed clearly by the writer on how the general education system was ridden with corruption and underdevelopment in terms of class buildings This gives the reader a deeper insight into the education system of Thailand and how education in the region was not considered as among the primary priorities. However, the way of life of the society of Thailand has not been clearly illustrated leaving the reader inconclusive. It is therefore my conclusion that this posting did not portray a clear picture of the book but rather gave a rough overview of it.
Second Person:
This post contained detailed answers to each question asked. The writer clearly elaborated every issue at hand to give the reader a deeper insight to what was being communicated. Explanations provided were insightful and precise leaving the reader with a clear and accurate picture of the unfolding. Instructions issued were followed to the latter without breaching any of them. The examples offered were concise and factual in the essence that facts were provided for instance: “The national dropout rate in 2003 for students between the sixth and twelfth grades was 52%. In the provinces, it was over 80%.” This gives the work credibility as it backed by actual facts and figures that support its claim. The life of the protagonist, Lon is described accurately to give the reader a vivid description of how she suffered from the time she was young dropping out of school and joining the sex tourism industry to support her family. The writer distinctly clarifies Thailand society’s way of life and the hardships that force the country to involve itself with sex tourism as a form of income generating activity. The post is therefore scholarly like due to the comprehension it provides throughout the questions. It is therefore of my opinion that this post depicts a clear picture of the book “ Only 13.”
